Ah the highlighted event on top of the list that I for some reason didn't see at all. Thanks! It'll be great to follow this!

No surprises about the participants in this final

The real show would be the EU regional finals.

No Bunny in the Danish qualifier
Still one of the more interesting one with Lillekanin Theo and Spacemarine
|
If liquipedia is up-to-date, there is a chance for Czecho-Slovak finals in the central EU quals, shame that probably no Czechs nor Slovaks are watching
|
Haha, the division of Europe is ... arbitrary to say the least. So there is a separate Danish thing and then Italy is somehow considered Central Europe - I guess you'd be in a risk of an injury by flying pizza if you suggested such a thing in Italy
|
Also I hope that no French people have seen the map that assigns Corsika to Italy, otherwise riots are possible
|
Underdogs players doing well as always
|
The loss of the chance for Czech-Slovak finals is tragic though
edit: according to LP, TomikuS has suddenly become Canadian anyway
|
You see people how this regional thing is fucking working? I am going to watch a Czech player, for the first time in my life thanks to this )

That's really easy, when you're French
I am a little sad that I have discovered esports so late, because I found out that one of my friends is actually a local champion from some 2000 or so in BW. Back then, it was quite vibrant in the Czech scene, in contrast to the deadness of now.
Now that I moved to Poland, it gets easier at least

TomikuS even has Czech characters in team handle, perfect

You know well that I am only pretending to be Polish.
Also, are you listening to BTTV how they comically pronounce TomikuS like it was an english word ?

Haha, the division of Europe is ... arbitrary to say the least. Our regions system had to consider not only StarCraft 2, but CS:GO, DotA 2 and HS as well. It had to be the same for all titles. Clearly it's not possible for any system to be equally great in all titles for all local regions but we've done our best in order for it at least not to look absolutely stupid in eyes of any community.

It's all in good spirit from me - I think that even from SC2 point of view it's reasonable, but from the point of geography it's kinda funky Just fix the Corsika thing )

And maybe even add Sardinia!

Nice adept control by Naniwa. But damn, that unit is kind of broken. Wtf was Zanster thinking with that 'proxy' hatchery? Terrible idea. That was the easiest thing to counter.

Elazer 3-0 Nerchio :o

Nerchio ZvZ man. At KeSPA Cup he'll do something like beat Maru and lose to Pet.

Same here, I was wondering when the temptation would be too big.

Mana's losing record to Snute/Nerchio is ridiculous

Unfortunately, can't watch the stream. Go, go, go, Brat_OK! I remember his style bio+tanks vs blink stalkers all-ins during Protoss bullshit era.

What a solid line-up for the Europe & CIS regional final! The highest ranking players (WCS that is) that failed to qualify are PtitDrogo & UThermal. Other than that, Naniwa causing an upset in the Swedish qualifier adding extra spice!

So what will be the format for the regional final?

...official format has been released: https://wesg.starladder.com/en/sc2/news/seeding-of-the-sc2-players-at-the-lan-finals-of-wesg-europe-cis tldr: 4 groups of 5 players each, top 3 each advance to a 12 players playoffs*, top 8 qualify for global finals
*format for this is not specified and I don't get it atm maybe could be that 1st places are seeded directly in the ro8 (so qualified for Global Finals) and 2nd and 3rd places battle for the 4 remaining spot but idk...
EDIT: btw, NaNiwa and AqueroN forfeited their spots and were replaced by Namshar and IBIMarine...

Who did the seedings? It seems totally random, groups aren't balanced at all
|
On October 04 2016 02:53 HsDLTitich wrote: Who did the seedings? It seems totally random, groups aren't balanced at all Seems like Dreamhack seeding™
No seriously the groups make no sense. But I guess if top 3 from each group advance, at least Snute, Nerchio and MarineLorD avoid each other in the playoffs.
|
1) TL thread with main event info will be created soon (TM) 2) Seeding was totally random except the fact that players from the same country were put in different groups. You may like it or not, that's what AliSports required 3) First place advancers are indeed put into Ro8 directly while 2nd/3rd place finishers will play for Ro8 spots
|
Seeding is based clearly on qualifiers to this tournament, not a lot could be changed taking that into consideration. Seeds no. 1 are winners of qualifiers with 2 spots, seed 2 are runners up in the same qualifiers. etc.

This might be a good time to announce the schedule, all the broadcasting channels and English commentators.

Does Stephano have 2 cititenships? Seems he chose the easy path.

group b+d freelo, group c 3 tier1 players... makes sense

I like the new format, makes the event different from IEM's and Dreamhacks

Very few tournaments have had any Africa qualifiers before.
