Naniwa and I in partnership with Matcherino now announce four showmatches in our series called "How well do YOU know StarCraft" where we test your knowledge about StarCraft II players.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THESE SHOWMATCHES?
- Players will be unknown/barcoded untill the end of the showmatches. You do not know who they are, and they do not know who they are playing against. We promise the players invited will not disappoint :-)
- During each showmatch, a strawpoll for each player race will appear in the stream chat. The viewers must guess the identities of each player. A total of 4 random pro/GM player names will be selected for each showmatch.
- The total prizepool is 100$ for each showmatch. Winner takes all.
- A total of 4 showmatches.
- If one player is guessed, we cut 20$ from prize pool. If both players are gussed, we cut 40$. This guarantees 60$ for the winner.
MAP POOL
- The first map is Aiur Plateau.
- Then loser pick from the following choices: Dasan Station New Gettysburg Ohana Antiga Shipyard Dash and Terminal Namaste
WHERE AND WHEN?
06/06/2016 at 7:00 PM to +/- 12:00 AM CEST. Players will be notified in what order they have to play.

This seems like the show matches CatZ would want! Sounds fun!

yes what a Creative & innovative idea! Should be fun to watch & guess who is who. Some players have pretty distinct playing styles. Players like Theo or Ruff or dare i say Avilo. Looking forward to see who is taking part & some interesting games/banter

What makes this funny, is the quote on theos post,
"Any sufficiently cheesy build is indistinguishable in skill"
:p

Oh wow this map pool is neat.

I'm sorry, but I do not understand the prizepool bit. The way I see it, if the game is a ZvT and the zerg player were bly then there'd be a Strawpoll with, for example, Bly, Nerchio, Scarlett, and Snute as the possible choices. If majority of Chat votes were for Bly, then there'd be a $20 reduction in prize pool? I feel like that can't be right. Why would we want to lower the prize pool?
I must be mistaken; could someone maybe please explain this better?

The whole point is to make it worthwhile for players to not be detected.
Right now the strawpoll number is set to 4, but we might reduce this number to 3 for the minor problem you described. Those details are minor and will follow.
The prizepool for the winner is already 100$ for a single bo5, which is a considerable sum. Due to technical details, we got this system approved so that in some cases, prizepools will be reduced if players were correctly guessed.
Some viewers may prefer trying to do their best to reduce the prize pools, thus try to guess the correct players.
Viewers who want to protect the prizepool should then do their best to manipulate the votings away from the player they think it really is.
That is all =)
