ZvT looks so stupid now, why cant we just go back to the actually good match up of muta/ling/bane vs bio/mine or bio/tank

TBH I hated watching it. Splits or no splits, it just looked like an endless stream of bio vs. an endless stream of lings. Watching actual big units die is much more satisfying imo.

When 2 good players matched up it looked fucking awesome if you knew what went into it and how intense the match up was, both tactically and mechanically

I find it much harder to see the difference between a fantastic player and a mediocre player when its all about weird maps and weird compositions that play out chaotically and unpredictably, or stuff that forces the game into weird one off scenarios and shit

There's only so much tactical and mechanical prowess that can make 1/6 of the game interesting when it involves the same 6-7 units fighting in the same way for 10-20 minutes per game. At least Ultralisks and Thors mixed it up a bit in the lategame.

BW seemed fine.

Final game w/ mech - Had he done a few things slightly differently such as catching that extra base, not losing all the banshees, he would have won.

PvT was a fucking atrocity in BW. Although Recall made positioning more interesting.

I mean just because you dont understand or cant see it clearly doesnt mean the tactical side isnt there. That's part of what made it amazing, it was really hard to replicate and small nuances in a player's level could add up and win games consistently.

You can still say that the match up currently is unexplored and thats why it looks so inconsistent and weird and thats fair enough, but I think I could guarantee that every pro vastly preferred the hots metagame

It's like preferring chess with scrambled starting positions over normal chess, it just doesnt make sense to me. but hey if you think the game is better like this then good for you, i'll keep being sad/mad about it rofl

I probably am by this point. Aside from tournament hype getting me to clear my schedule I get to play SC2 for at most 10 hours a week. My primary source of entertainment comes from watching this game at work. That said, I paid for this game, same as you, and I think I'm getting my money's worth right now.

I think I see where our disagreement lies I actually am a huge fan of Chess960 because it relies less on memorized openings.

PvT was a fucking atrocity in BW. Although Recall made positioning more interesting.

i see you are the mythical casual audience that DK seems to speak of constantly

I probably am by this point. Aside from tournament hype getting me to clear my schedule I get to play SC2 for at most 10 hours a week. My primary source of entertainment comes from watching this game at work. That said, I paid for this game, same as you, and I think I'm getting my money's worth right now.

my primary source of pleasure from sc2 comes from reading snarky comments in LR threads.

I should be getting paid for this then.

Aren't you?

not here but he is making that ESPN money now.

bio can go ghosts/liberators though, while air terran has nothing left to pull out of the hat

Are Battlecruisers an option? Never see them as Zerg nowadays.

Also you could make 1 BC that you need 2 upgrades for to get max potential or you could make 2 liberators that you need 1 upgrade for to get max potential.
Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes.
