Hydra looked pretty mortal vs Happy, and Polt still has big tests ahead of him in FireCake and Nerchio. Polt vs Hydra might be the finals, but it's definitely not guaranteed yet.

Watching actual big units die is much more satisfying imo. it regressed from multitask heavy games to F2+A Not at all. Liberator splitting is way more fun to watch than marine splitting. splitting isn't a synonym to multitasking "fun to watch" isn't a synonym to "fun to play" I play neither Terran nor Zerg so I really don't have a stake in how fun TvZ is to play. All I know is that it looks a lot more interesting, and less people whine about it than my favorite style from HotS (slow mech pushes).
From a Protoss perspective, all three matchups are infinitely more fun. Especially PvP. I liked it before but it TvT was a chess match, PvP is now blitz chess.

I feel banshee speed upgrade is pretty unexplored in general right now. It feels like there could be a mid-game timing where you can rather safely harass with banshees and at least force excessive static defense. Maybe even play a style not dissimilar to Oracle openers where you really, really want to preserve some early game banshees to get mid-game value out of them instead of the common Terran strategy of throwing them away.

But ground mech sucks balls, right now is either mass marine+medivac or die.

When 2 good players matched up it looked fucking awesome if you knew what went into it and how intense the match up was, both tactically and mechanically
I find it much harder to see the difference between a fantastic player and a mediocre player when its all about weird maps and weird compositions that play out chaotically and unpredictably, or stuff that forces the game into weird one off scenarios and shit

They lost their best players. Beside the one that has the highest average offline tournament placements in LotV.

hey we now have only 2 terrans left I guess the caster were just able to see the future.

The fusion core tech requirement and a 200/200 96 second cost make it a tough sell for the mid-game. You'd rather go liberator range most of the time.

OK time to actually play the game

I'd like to believe that they meant Polt had advanced on and there was only MLord and Masa left in the ro16.

At least Ultralisks and Thors mixed it up a bit in the lategame.

Also for the record, the more ground units he makes, the weaker his air army gets, and therefore the more ground units he makes, the more he risks losing the air fight and dying to broodlords.

I think now it's a lot more to do with things like positioning and unit composition over pure mechanical ability, which in a strategy game is a good thing.

Yeah, series like Innovation vs DongRaeGu or Maru vs Life probably won't come as often with this "survive until ultras"-metagame.
Still it's fun to see it still being explored. Would love two high level koreans battle it out using this mass air style.

mass air is on a timer against vipers just like bio is on a timer against ultras.
bio can go ghosts/liberators though, while air terran has nothing left to pull out of the hat
