Everyone is no trade this season
Really? I never care about trade rules since notradepowa!

Corruptors cost a retarded amount of minerals so most people prefer mutas since they can atleast help defend the first push. I still think corruptors are better later on tho
I like where TvZ is headed in LotV, I was a bit concerned that roach/ravager would be played all the time, I much prefer the good old muta ling bane with the few new attachments such as liberator / ghost / ultra interactions

The alternative playstyle you refer, which I would guess is roach ravager is really map dependent though, you'll get kill by a pre-ultralisk timing on a lot of maps.

GTR and Taste!!! GTR only one backing our Solar, it depends which Solar turns up though. If the good Solar turns up he should win if not TY in for a comfortable harass victory

This game is a bad example of it but if you try to delay 2/2 with lingbane for a faster hive you should just die to the terran 2/2 timing before ultras ever come into play Journey did some fancy multitasking and lost 8 mines tho so he couldn't walk over the zerg right then and there. Oh well that fancy mulittasking fucked his econ and the 6k resources that went into mutas did the rest

TY played better by forcing Solar to not dare to go for better units.

I thought they helped reduce spread if the carrier wore them (making the practice make even more sense). I still remember my first ride along and had to be corrected to mask the patient instead of myself :p

Well if you are correct and it spreads by touch mostly - does it goes through skin or relies it on not washing your hands properly?

If your skin is normal it does not go through skin. Most of the time the thing with dirty hands is that you touch your food with it, and then from your food it goes inside you. (you can also skip the "food" portion by directly touching internal cavities with dirty hands)

I know a lot of you guys hate disruptors, but at the same time, I think it's nice to see how disruptors can lead to come backs. I mean, come on, guys, do you watch real sports? When you play basketball, and you are behind by 20 points, there's always a chance to make a comeback, and that's what makes certain sports exciting!
If you remove disruptors, do you want to go back to Colossus deathballs?
Zest made bad decisions at the end and got punished. I like the new pvp. People will get much better at this and we will see some high level stuff in the future, just as in ling/bling vs ling/bling in zvz.
I dont know why people are hating the disruptor, if that was HOTS and someone has 10 collosus vs your 6 collosus game is over... that game Zest had a much larger army, but couldnt just A move into Dear cause of the disruptors, and when he rushed and failed with his micro he payed Dearly xD

I agree, it's so nice when one guy outplays the other consistently for 15 minutes and then dies because of a couple seconds of mis-micro... /s

I don't know what stale means to you in this context, but in PvP they promote the players to constantly be attacking each other.

About the cold thing, it prevents you from spreading contaminated creep... you shoot a frickin virus bullet spray and it sticks to whatever it hits. The virus cannot survive for long exposed to air, and it mostly spreads through touch when you have goo in your hands. Wearing masks won't keep your hands clean but prevents you from spraying virus all over the place. So it helps. But it won't mean a lot if you pick your nose and touch stuff, which everyone that has a cold does.

I think y0su hit the nail on the head; The masks are still sources of contamination, they only shorten the range (no sneezes and coughs). But the range is still within how physically close generally people are. Makes sense. That plus the touch thing.

I don't think you can call disruptor shots "brainless mechanics" because if you misfire, then your disruptors are fucked. I think colossus are more reflective of "brainless mechanics" with its high 1-A tendencies.

I'm pretty sure Blizzard will look into it, if the disruptor wars feel too coin-flippy, which is definitely possible.

hm Reality looked so incredibly solid in Olimleague, doing all the small stuff right, getting the most value out of every single unit. And now in SPL he does so many sloppy mistakes, doesn't have a real gameplan for cross positions and looked just overall lost

bane vs bane at 10 minutes with 150+supply armies that all die at once.
icugurl
yea bane bane at 3 minutes vs disruptor disruptor at 10 min
and once you get to roaches/tempests you're safe for the most part
how does it make a difference what the supply is ; you can instalose the game just as easy in both situations
--
or should we go back to collosus vs collosus with timing attacks b4; i guess thats what protoss players were used to in every matchup tho
the duration you have to worry about babysitting your army with the more multi tasking in the late game makes a significant difference. It's quite a bit more frustrating to play 10 minutes to lose more or less instantly because you weren't babysitting perfectly. That's more of an opinion, but I'd also argue it's bad overall design.
i'd rather play the collo stuff...D;
edit: good pvt match ! Not sure what happened with the macro there though. Felt like for how long he was 2 base he should had much more units o.o... guess just seemed like that cuz his hel's didnt do enough dmg.

Quite similar, yeah. Other way I think it could work is shooting the shot to specific point and being able to explode it in middle of it's movement.

It was pretty obvious from KT that they are going to send a Protoss. I would assume mr Stork knows this and has prepared something specifically for Dusk Towers and vs this. If not and he expected someone else then he is silly dinosaur xD
So I was away for a while - Zest vs BrAvO ace, dafuq? Like, really? Neither of those make sense to me. Unless Zest is really good against Zerg in practice and they were expecting Solar. Or maybe they were expecting Dear. Either way neither of those make sense.
I dont get why you would send zest, when he basically threw a game earlier in the series. Like TY and Stats looked really good, plus Stats just played so he is warmed up and probably feeling good. I dont know why you wouldnt factor that shit into your decision. I dunno it just dosent make sense to me to send Zest.

Yes, you may understand Protoss, but a lot of us hated Protoss for what it was before LotV. Sure, there were a lot of intricacies, but it's design was just damn too much of a snowball effect. If you are way too behind economically, well, you're fucked unless you turtle pretty hard. Or if you do crippling damage, well, guess what? You win because Protoss was heavily reliant on tech. That's why I didn't enjoy PvP too much whenever Colossus was involved. It usually came down to your colossus count, army composition, and positioning, which really gives no room for error and no way to come back unless your opponent fucks up. I mean in BW, it was usually a Dragoon and Reaver war, which was pretty damn exciting.

And now it's essentially irrelevant early-midgame building up (unless someone just kills the other guy). Then it's disruptor/blink stalker for the rest of the game where all that matters is that one key disruptor hit and nobody can push advantages anymore. Takes the strategy right out of RTS.
I don't understand the argument. If tech, economy, army positioning, control in fights, colossus count, composition matter - isn't that much deeper than gambling on good disruptor shots?

Solar is still undefeated in LotV ZvP though
I think the risk with Solar is his weak ZvT, and it's possible that TY could have been sent as an ACE. I think Bravo was more of a TvT sniper.

It's definitely deeper, but it's not fun to watch at all. I mean, if you look at a spectator sports such as football, people don't care about how strategic football can be with man formations, proper foul/out timings, and ball handling. All people care about is the goal. I mean, like with football, the team can make the better decisions, but if your goalie fucks up or your opponent got lucky with a good shot, well, according to the scoreboard, it doesn't matter how "good" you were.
maybe it's too short a time after the patch but I was expecting CC first or 1-rax expand into 3 rax openings again with the nerfed PO and adept. Seems like Korean terrans are still all going for tech opening

I don't know what stale means to you in this context, but in PvP they promote the players to constantly be attacking each other.
You seem to be confusing posturing with attacking :D If neither player messes up, all Disruptors do is make sure you never actually engage.

Tasteless didn't really translate for GSL though, he had Jay the translator whisper sweet nothings in his hear.
Nope, he (they) translated themselves
You know, a week or two ago in SSL he pretty much said "I'm sorry Jay, could you repeat that? I didn't understand that." Also https://twitter.com/CallMeTasteless/status/691944996564549633 So he's probably not super confident in translating by himself.

That's new then, cuz they confirmed translating themselves at some point last year iirc

I think Tasteless also said at some point that Valdes has the best Korean out of all the casters. And really, when was the last time Valdes translated anything? Also what is Valdes doing? I know Wolf was casting Heroes with the Tosis, does Valdes have a day off on Monday?

Wasn't he on vacation? What I'd like to know is why Moonglade left (Korea) :/

Maybe he lost his passion. Or his visa. Or he wants to make a glorious competitive comeback that is yet to be announced.

Some good games, some bleh games, TY played, looks to be a good season. Although the next Proleague week is 2 weeks away, we'll have to survive a week without Proleague next week
Oh btw if any KT fan was wondering whatever happened to our glorious playoff Zerg hitmaN, he played Heroes today, casted by Wolf and Artosis.

well, honestly, he's jsut casting every day, at this pont the only question for him is what studio should he go to...
(and this "looks like" use was obviously tongue in cheek)

Oh really? well he didn't have any luck finding a new SC2 team...

Does he still go by the same nickname?
Yeah he's still hitmaN. His team lost though
he's on a team with a guy called Daisy and I still don't know if it's the same Daisy that played SC2

According to Wolf it's not the same Daisy. Also RIP your LB, those were easy

Why give terran so much APM friendly things to do as they were so bored with Hots . Solar played really well on the macro greediness but MyMy what a game from TY !
So glad I tuned in to watch Ty vs Solar and Zest vs Dear.
It really strikes me how much better the Protoss mirror is compared to WOL/HOTS. I fucking hate a-move Colossus deathballs, Disruptors are so much more fun and interesting; micro and mechanics should matter in this game as much a strategy, and Disruptors are the best of both worlds in this case.
Why in the world did Samsung send out BrAvO? Send out Dear, who is HANDS DOWN your best player... Or Solar who has won two LotV championships already and is killing it these days.

Some say it was because they expected TY, but really you know that KT is always conservative about their aces and it's zest most of the time.
My assumption is that Bravo had a cool build, but Zest was expecting aggression (he knows bravo is not sent out to out macro him) and Bravo just got everything wrong or poorly done (death of his reaper, snipe of liberator, army caught outside of his third) and then it just snowballed and he got stomped.
Anyway if you take a risk as a coach you must be expecting some bad results (else it's not a risk...)

Exactly ... they have so many good options ... and Bravo was not one of them. At least he gave Zest a nice confidence boost ...

They are uploaded in English and Korean to the ESPORTSTV YouTube channel a few hours after each match.
The upload order and full spoilers can be atrocious, but hey, free 1080p Proleague VODs. At least they have the decency to hide the Aces when it goes to Ace match this year.

I saw that too. That was awesome of them to do that.
Funny enough I was actually thinking of hiding the Aces with silhouettes during the matches before I had seen the preview thumbnail. Guess I got what I wanted.
