Yeah after the first round of matches I was seriously feeling winner of Life/Dark would definitely win this tournament given the way the bracket shaped up, but definitely feel like a player like herO could have some tricky stuff up his sleeve and take it all for sure. Very interesting "Final Four" here.
And after just watching the VODs from yesterday, god I love Tasteless and Artosis, almost goes without saying... they're fucking hilarious and I also like how they conjecture about the meta considering all this "newness" and all. Please jesus let them never stop commentating Starcraft and stay around forever. <3
Life vs Zestin in GSL Preseason 1 semifinals. Life has the #2 Headband. Life is at 39.24% Blizzcon Chances, with a 58.06% chance to win this match. If they win their Blizzcon Chances go up to 41.82%, or 35.67% if they lose. Zest is at 30.55% Blizzcon Chances, with a 41.94% chance to win this match. If they win their Blizzcon Chances go up to 34.15%, or 27.95% if they lose.
ByuL vs herOin in GSL Preseason 1 semifinals. ByuL is at 54.52% Blizzcon Chances, with a 42.42% chance to win this match. If they win their Blizzcon Chances go up to 57.5%, or 52.32% if they lose. herO is at 70.84% Blizzcon Chances, with a 57.58% chance to win this match. If they win their Blizzcon Chances go up to 72.66%, or 68.38% if they lose.
Life has a 30.22% chance to win ----going from 39.24% to 47.4% if they get 1st, or 35.7% if they don't. herO has a 27.02% chance to win ----going from 70.84% to 77.52% if they get 1st, or 68.37% if they don't. Zest has a 22.99% chance to win ----going from 30.55% to 39.18% if they get 1st, or 27.98% if they don't. ByuL has a 19.77% chance to win ----going from 54.52% to 63.45% if they get 1st, or 52.32% if they don't.
I think the final would be Life and herO, however if Zest somehow win against Life then the final would be PvP with herO then Zest would win because Zest's PvP is still impeccable. If it's ZvZ final, however, then I truly have no idea, the match up is too weird for my liking.
Hm, looking at the player list of SSL and GSL I wonder if there is any shakeup in who's who in Korea. It seems like some relatively weaker players have surged in skill in the foreigner world but has LotV changed that at all in SK?

Sorry and ByuN, Forte looks better than Salvation too
I imagine the usual good players will rise to the top again before too long. Some of the weaker players would have gotten a good head start on LotV since they wouldn't have had to practice for SPL or WCS or anything.

i'd chalk it up to not having fully settled, a lot of the blizzcon peeps prob had a lot less practice than the B teamers and qualifiers have always the most volatile

my point is sort of the opposite, Life, Zest, herO and ByuL (to some degree anyway) are HotS stars. You don't see a random B teamer surge in skill and make it to the top here. In the foreigner world there's Showtime and Nerchio who suddenly exploded in skill.

I think ByuN is here to dominate.
All these Kespa pros have turned into domesticated weaklings while ByuN has been a savage on the run.

Daed gaem Hurricane is good, Soulkey is back too
not watching and playing HotS for most of 2015 was exactly the break I needed. I didn't think it was possible, but combined with LotV actually being good that restored my passion

it's probably gonna happen for a few koreans, but it's less likely than foreigners i would suppose since the gap in skill in Korea is much bigger than in foreignworld
If we assume that eating or attaching yourself to the body part of a Korean progamer, like changing your hand for that of someone else, would give you their powers which body part would you take from which Korean progamer to gain their respective skill?

Both.
So:
If you could chop off a body part of a Korean progamer and attach it to yourself to gain that persons powers, which would it be? Like: Mvp's brain, Life's hands or whatever.

This game isn't only about playing long macro games youknow
i know I play both toss and zerg

Everything toss does is a dirty cheese
so Zerling rushes qualify too then. so it's a cheese I really hate that term to be honest
Things that are also cheeses - 2 base roach ling attack, 3 base roach attacks, anything involving mutas, not dying to immortal pushes, hive rushes , making static D

I don't think making static D should qualify it's a method of defense. UNLESS it's overcharge pylons, that's DEFINITELY cheese

I like how you don't say anything about "not dying to immortal pushes" :D:D:D Also static D in your opponents natural is most definetly not cheesy
I think if Zest had that expansion up way earlier, Life would be a bit behind cuz of all the lings lost, but since Zest's expansion finished just as Life's third did, he has no advantage

To improve the game. Watching a Protoss build a death ball for 15 mins then A move across the map is never fun
Then buff Storm. You are at least guaranteed dmg on the first tick.
You are joking right? Storm is still brilliant and the fact you can recyle into Archons straight after using it is even better.
Perhaps Zest should have tried Templar tech or simply put his Robo in a better position.
He needs to be more aggresive. You cannot be a passive against Zerg on current map pool and balance. Templars are a joke, psi storm has a range of 9. Lurkers have the same range... guess what happens. Also disruptor doesn;t kill a lurker on 1 hit, psi storm does less dmg, doesn't it?

Maybe he could have shaded a few adepts into the lurker field to bait their attack, then storm the the field, BW play was similar wasnt it?
herO basically doing the same thing in PvZ that he does in PvT. Just really good decision making on where to send his adepts when and the opponent can only watch his workers dieing. This is not just sending adepts in and hope to kill something, this is perfectly executed harass to the point that it looks really scary

Remember that map pool is a joke right now. So Zest had a bad position or worse position to take the battle. That's why Life could take a posture where the lurkers were safe against balls of doom.
He had a stargate, I wonder why a void ray or 2 wouldn't be clever in that positioning. Life sacced all his ravagers and morphed all his hydras.
WEll he saw he hasn't any AtG damage. Don't make a fool from Life. Life would have reacted properly
Yeah of course, but then the lurker mass wouldn't absolutely fuck you like that.

well, there were no adepts or anything so you just have to storm the Lurkers. But it depends a bit on the situation and what stage the game is in.

Don't think that'd work too well. Sacrificing adepts to get off a storm or two that won't even kill the Lurkers doesn't seem like a good idea.

BW play vs Lurkers was getting a lot of Dragoons (and maybe reavers) and otherwise do stuff normal since Dragoons are actually decent against Lurkers compared to Speedlots :0
But ofcourse bating shots is part of like cute things you can do to make it hurt less bad

Charge did 30 dmg on the initial hit at one point. 10 chargelots just blew things up. The Redbull series highlighted some of these different points in time.

would have been a better fight for Byul though if one third of his army wasn't cut off from attacking for the first part of the battle. Ravagers can deal a lot of damage with their auto-attack as well, probably way more than with corrosive biles because they actually hit stuff that way

Goes without saying that he usually kills his opponents, but he has had this problem in ZvP for most of the year. Against herO and Parting early on, against Stats, Zest, Classic and sOs later. He has a tendency to think he is in a slightly better position than he is - usually he's in the clear, sometimes not

How many gases herO took in the last match?
Good point since adept cost twice lesser gas than stalker.

The two base version of this push is easily scoutable because the toss will not have any gas at natural. The three base version is very hard to scout because he will have 4 gas distriubted over 3 bases but that version supports a shit ton of different army compositions.
Either way it's hard to deal with, even the theoretical best counter (banelings) has problems with it since a lot of them die before they reach adepts and adepts have quite high HP overall.

Yeah, honestly I think that PartinG may have the best micro in all of SC2. He was Maru's kryptonite for so long specifically because he was the only player who could consistently win micro battles against him.

Yeah, honestly I think that PartinG may have the best micro in all of SC2. He was Maru's kryptonite for so long specifically because he was the only player who could consistently win micro battles against him.
Edit: Or at least Parting may hold the record for best micro we've seen so far. Last I saw him play, he'd fallen off a bit.
PartinG is the only one I have seen holding unscouted proxy 2-gates. herO always died to them.

Life very good player. Look at Zerg very weak. GSL lose 0:3 in final versus Protoss. in Other tournament homestory cup Zerg also doing weak. Maybe your perception a little bit on wrong foot
14 Zerg entered tournament and 9 already eliminated. So 65% of Zerg gone 8 Terrans entered tournament only 1 eliminated. So 12,5% of Terran gone. 10 Protoss entered tournament and 6 eliminated. So 60% of Protoss gone.
Many good Zerg gone. Scarlett, TLO, Stephano
Reaper and Adept strong early pressure. Reaper regeneration and Adept so much life. Adept strong in early, mid and late. Upgrade and they fight everything
It big mistake to think Zerg strong because Solar doing good.Starcraft 2 Lotv in early stages. Protoss is not bad
Pretty sure you are trolling but... Do you realize Stephano is retired, Scarlett barely played LotV and TLO while not especially in shape was eliminated by... A korean. Life lost hard but he won hard series too so hard to conclude anything.

I only look at math because it never lies. Scarlett very good Nation Wars. TLO training very much. he should advance from group stage in medium strength event, TOP is korean but TLO playing long and very much LOTV. Enemy being a korean is no excuse!

lol have you heard about Maru? PartinG also have a better micro imo.
parting never had better micro than herO lol
Parting had a better micro than any protoss players. That's why Maru always lost to Parting.

Now Parting is playing really bad though.
I agree, I think Parting at his peak had the best micro.

Indeed. I thought this was common knowledge.
Popular opinion. Undisputed fact confirmed.
As opposed to your extremely factual arguments like "anyone with their eyes open could see it"?

Even a progamer said Hero's blink is the second best to Parting in one of GSL group selections where both were present, although I don't remember which one it was. Recently one of GSL casters said in his stream(paraphrased) that Parting lacks a kin understanding of when to engage and when to withdraw compared to other top protoss players but his micro skill alone wins him a match even in impossible fights.
Parting was the only protoss who could take on Zerg with Immortal all-in during late HOTS and his 45-3 record against Terran at some point during 2015 proves the point too. I don't think Parting is overall a better player than hero(at their peak) because he has many weaknesses. Parting's minimap awareness is somewhat lacking, he fights unfavourable battles and take losses, his decision making is not top notch; however, his micro is, IMO, indisputably the best among protoss players and that's what made him one of the best protosses.
Parting beat Rogue in 120 vs 200 supply. Parting, in his games against TY in 2015, took massive probe losses and lost couple of badly chosen engagements but still came out on top with unbelievable micro. If Parting had more versatility with his micro intact I could see him being the only Bonzwa of SC2.
Hero, on the other hand, is not a player whose strength is as limited as Parting's is. Hero's blink micro is more of his favoured strategy than his strength. Hero excels at mindgames, lategames, macro and micro, but he doesn't particularly have a better micro than Parting.
This comparison is somewhat moot at this point since Parting has fallen quite low after his long break from SC2 from middle of 2015. He is no longer a player with Hero's caliber at this point and most likely henceforth; lost skills don't come back easily at pro-level.

Yes, Dream making a joke at GSL Ro16 group selection is dispositive of the issue.
It's the match Parting playing against Rogue; Protoss had 2 bases with 120 supply and 3 immortals while Zerg had fully saturated 4 bases(1 gold) with 200 supply and burrow move upgraded roaches; Paring kept pressing Zerg for nearly 5 minutes, forcing massive losses to Rogue with his incredible micro, then won the game. The game has one of the best protoss engagement I've ever seen in SC2.
