Colossi wars were everything about positioning. Colossus is a very snowbally unit. You have a few more than your opponent and you gain huge advantage. You can even push those advantage further because colossi have no cooldown. Disruptors can always stage a comeback with a right shot. Which in my opinion makes it a bit too coinflippy. Coinflipping mean it's based on luck which is obviously not true. It is not obvious at all. Not watching your army and fail to split is hardly being unlucky. Well you MUST look away from your army sometimes. If you look away at the wrong moment you lose your entire army instantly. But you don't know when it's the right moment to look away. Interesting To me it is interesting that Colossi wars represent even 1/4 of Disruptors wars after hearing so much about how Colossi were the worst designed units in the entire game for last 5 years. well it's not like disruptor is praised as the best designed unit of all time either It is definitely better than Colossi though and a lot of pros and casual players like them.
Remember when people liked Colossi? Yeah, I don't remember it either.

Having units to scout is possible. Using oracles is possible.
In any MU you can lose if you don't pay attention. It is a part of 100% of games that are not turn based. You must know this.

A baneling can't oneshot an entire army and you can see banelings on the minimap rolling in.
