The thing is, that the defensive setup of flash didn't help him, while protoss has very strong defensives (nexus cannon, forcefields, storms (if avaliable). However of course normally, if toss loses all his army and terran still has his, the terran wins. Don't watch Rain vs Journey on deadwing in the ASL finals.

But Immortal/Storms/Zealots against a terran with his back against the wall... well. I won't complain about balance, its just stupid game design. If both lose their armies, protoss still wins in 90% of the cases, because of the warpin mechanic, where you cannot only produce way faster, but also stronger units and exactly the right units you need - and directly into the opponents face. Flash played it a little bit like it was BW, where such things payed off, but SC2 is sometimes a bit retarded. Sacrificing the 2nd would have given HerO the time to rebuild while holding the ramp (thx to storms), but would have been the better decision maybe

But it really only works if you get most of your army out. Which was the problem Flash had. He lost both parts of his army, and then didn't have the best counter-tech to the Zealot-Archon-Storm army coming his way.

The phoenix harass was terrible terrible damage for what I wanted, I imagined herO pulling two phoenixes over to Flash's third to kill the building scv for added damage, but the back expansion was an arterial bleed of scvs until herO felt the viking/army pushout. Great games, I hope Flash is ready for this next match.

However Protoss has a way better chance of holding even after losing everything, because of super-flashy spells and so on. Make some forcefields - terran can't attack, meanwhile reproduce army. If terran can somehow attack, well storm, activate nexus and so on. Toss has a huge advantage when it comes to some defensive things. From the early game on (, Forcefields, Nexus Cannon) to the lategame (Colossi, Storms, Nexus Cannon....) Its what eventually makes starcraft boring, because sometimes you can be miles ahead of the opponent but cannot do shit against such defensive tosses until they got their deathball and move over you, to show you what "protossed" means. Its stupid design in some ways, and there is a reason why the player numbers dropped over the years. User was temp banned for this post.
