Ro 16: 4 Groups, double-elimination tournament, Top 2 got the tickets
Ro 8: 4 Groups, double-elimination tournament, Top 2 got the tickets
Round 2: (offline)
Ro 8 (WCS Challenge): BO5, single-elimination tournament (plus Jim, MacSed, iA and XiGua)
Semifinals and Finals: BO7, single-elimination tournament

Sort of. It'll serve as the Chinese qualifier for WCS, as the top 8 qualifies for Challenger but they still play out their own league to the end.

To clarify:
Qualifier: 256 man open, top 16 to GPL main tournament;
GPL main tournament: two group stages, top 4 gain WCS Challenger status;
WCS Challenger/GPL playoffs: 4 WCS Challenger plus 4 WCS Season 1 Premier players play a RO8 bracket, the 4 RO8 matches are also served as WCS Challenger League, winners not only advances to RO4, also gain WCS Season 2 Premier League spots. The bracket will continue on till a champion is decided.

there is something really wrong there
according to WCS rules, only 4 players from China region should qualify to Challenger Season 2, since there will be the 4 players from China who qualified to Premier League in Season 1 (Jim, XiGua, MacSed & iAsonu)
but this:
* Top 8 will be WCS Challenge China
* Top 4 will be WCS Premier
it would mean that those 4 players could possibly not be in the Challenger for WCS Season 2?

So the 4 players are already qualified into the Ro8 of GPL, that works :d

Every WCS Premier League player except the winner returns to their own region's WCS Challenger League in next season, so XiGua, Jim, iAsonu and MacSed will play in WCS China Challenger Season 2, against the 4 new WCS Challengers, in this case, GPL main tournament top 4.
Also the GPL open qualifier serves as the qualifier for Kung Fu Cup as well, top 16 will play in a separate bracket for 4 spots in Kung Fu Cup Season 1.
