Through travelling and through actually winning games at those events, too. His failures this year are terribly overstated, while his victores are undersold. Both years he made 6 semi-finals before Blizzcon. This year he won 2, and got stuck at semi's 4 times. Last year he got second 5 times, which is about equal. The competition wasn't very different, either (besides his first miracle run in WCS Season 2). He had a 54.3% win-rate against offline Korean competition and everyone was excited to see him. This year he's at 52.7% and suddenly he doesn't deserve to be there, while making the finals with his 54.3% last time. If he makes it this year, I won't be surprised if he makes it to Ro8/Ro4 again.
I know Snute is a foreigner and I'd absolutely love to see him there too, but he got the points the same way Jaedong did. Same for Naniwa last year, or even Taeja this year. Fact is, Taeja was better than Jaedong at many of those tournaments, but Jaedong was better than many other people. I love Mvp, but I feel Jaedong has more right to a spot than Mvp had last year, as Mvp basically dropped off completely after an amazing first season. But that's how a yearly point system works. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
But on-topic: The final game was really well played from both sides, which I'm glad I got to watch. Congrats Innovation for winning, and for having an amazing shot at reaching Blizzcon now. Poor soO, he really deserves a win by now. He's kind of like Taeja in GSL, who during his prime had his absolute solidness carry him very far, but then never being able to bring that little extra in the final stages. I hope for his sake he ends up anywhere but second at Blizzcon, that would just be crushing.

Scarlett going to Blizzcon would mean she won WCS AM this year and that would be fucking rad, ditto with Bunny.
Jaedong going to Blizzcon right now is just due to his traveling and the sheer number of events he's been to. His results in WCS AM have been terrible. The fact he's even in danger of losing his spot after how many events and free points he's soaked up just speaks enough on its own to how nonexistant his results have been this year.
He hasn't looked like a player that should be competing at the culmination tournament of the year at all this year. Let someone else more deserving have it.

Well we'll have to wait and see I guess, we could even end up with Scarlett and Bunny at Blizzcon. I wouldn't mind that.

There I said it.
I'd seriously rather have either of those guys, OR Snute over Jaedong.

Jaedong does not deserve to go to Blizzcon this year.

Does that mean the finalists get to play "scenes from a hat"?
