There are big differences with those maps... Alterzim was great for Terran because you could play greedier vs Z.


yes, there are differences between maps. On Alterzim you could play supergreedy and the distances were so long that you could just randomly luck out on the zerg never ever getting his OLs to you in time.
On Deadwing, you can get very easily 5bases against Zerg as Terran, which you can hardly ever get on any other map. And you can defend 4 of those 5bases with a single tank position without needing to move at all and the 5th and 6th with a second.

Let the map get figured out, before making demands.

Since when is winrate all you need to know how a MU plays?


It's the best indicator we have. If you don't like that, you can take me to a PM flame war about how on big maps it's impossible to attack as zerg, how you have to stay at home all game with mutas because of drops and so on and so on. I can bring PLENTY of downsides for Zergs on bigger maps and at the end of the day it's going to be arguments against arguments.
With the only real evidence being that winrates are good.


So you'd rather maps were back to Steppes of War sized?

Broodlord Infestor vs Soul Train was pretty balanced. Those were the glorydays man!

Giant maps force Terran into really weird gambly stuff like dropping everywhere and/or hoping for sick mine hits because of multitasking.
Zerg is going to have to defend because he can't really attack until T3, Mutaflock or massive creep is established, meanwhile, he is running around amoving his army from base 3 to 1 to 4 to 2 to 5 to 1 to 3 and having to keep his Mutalisk at home to defend dropships.

While those scrappy games like the one we just saw can be fun every now and then, that doesn't change the fact that one player is forced to deal damage desperately and does all kinds of random pokes while the other player is being a cushion that gets punched and punched and can't punch back for a long time.
