Whining about Protoss or balance will be more harshly moderated from page 90 onwards. Before making comments on race picking, refer to MLG's rules |

From what I've experienced, Zerg players tend to do very well with Terran in TvZ, mostly because so much of knowing that match up is to understand how to attack and harass a Zerg before you get steamrolled by their macro. No one understands how to attack a zerg like a zerg player. They have an innate understanding that makes them good at that match up. TvT and TvP are entirely different animals however. I meet very few Zergs that are able to wrap their heads completely around TvT. Comparing ZvZ and TvT is like comparing a vicious knife fight to a slow chess game. you've never stabbed a rook?

i do hope tho that race switches during a match will be illegal in future tournaments if you're good enough to win with multiple races you should be able to pick whichever one you want at any time imo disagree, i dont want to watch race switches all the time because people think they can metagame each other. if you want to switch races midseries, pick random Morrow racepicked. And as we all know, he pretty much destroyed the 2011 metagame... he didnt racepick mid series

The casters stated that "The winning player may also switch, as it is a separate rule" but no such rule is listed on the mlg website.
I'm not complaining, but I am pretty sure MLG let it slide due to her popularity. People still say this even when the rules are explicitly stated on the top of this thread? Look up Gameplay Rule 6 Rule # 6: Breaking any of Gameplay Rules #2-5 will result in a Forfeit of the Game. http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/starcraft-2-rules-and-settingsHow is that relevant? He put himself in the riskiest of positions. I mean as someone who is facing an opponent who rarely plays protoss (you would think), what's the first thing you would expect? Probably an all-in of some type, because its the easiest to execute. Yet he does the riskiest build against that. I'm not sure its so much Scarlett's victory as it was DRG's loss As Day9 stated when casting the game and DRG sacked an overlord to scout, this is how DRG holds that pressure. He mass produced queens and slow lings as that is usually all that DRG needs to hold it (you can watch his older games vs this 7 gate pressure and see the same thing). Scarlett just memorized the build order and executed it properly with stutter micro. I'm not saying that its right, but that is what happened and DRG thought he could hold. Realistically you should have to do more than just memorize a build to win a game. In general you shouldn't be able to play a whole other race at a competitive level just by practicing it a few weeks. It devalues the players of that race. This seems like a big deal for a game that is already jokingly quoted as "dead game" and the race in question is already under fire for being considered OP. u_u
All Scarlett said was that she practiced the build. She did not say if it was a few games, a few days, a few weeks, or a few years.

Don't look at this more than what it is: Scarlett pulled a fast one on DRG, and it was great.

The early game of TvT can be just as violent and volatile as the other mirrors. Midgame onward though you're absolutely right.
