Fun match and even though Maru lost I kinda feel that it showed that after the Hellbat buff a small adjustment needs to be made (a slightly higher mineral cost) because I expect balance problems in the near future. Not sure obviously but we'll see..

It didn't really show anything, Soulkey handled as bad as possible, only reason he won is because he finally got Roaches and because of that run-by. If he had played out that better, got a bit more Drones, got Roaches from get-go, I don't see how Maru would even come close to winning that series. Also when Soulkey was in the "lead", he threw it away by suiciding 8 Banelings to the 2 Hellbats that got dropped from Medivacs, and that is when the slug-fest had started.

Not entirely true; Imagine what would could have happened if Maru didn't leave his depots down multiple times. But again, I'm not sure and we will see.

You can not say "suicide" if Maru microes do this and baneling is a one hit thing. I have seen a lot games with only drop one marine to a baneling. Hellbat is better vs baneling, because you need more banelings to kill it.

Maru moved to the Gold, tried to 2 Rax with Bunker, Soulkey had great defense with 2 Spines. Maru started to go for Hellbats and drops from gold, Soulkey is on 2 bases. When Maru went for Drops, Soulkey went into Maru's base with Speedlings and killed a ton of SCVs, Maru dropped but it was unsuccessful because of a lot of Lings and Banelings, he still managed to kill a lot of lings. Game was back and forth, with Maru constantly dropping and killing a bit of Soulkey army, while Soulkey managed to run-by again with Banelings and kill again a lot of SCVs. Suddenly, Maru got an edge with drop into Soulkey's base because Soulkey suicided all(8) of his Banelings into first 2 Hellbats that got dropped. Maru almost won with that, but Roaches come out and clean that up, while Maru is lifting-up his CC and sending it to the Soulkey's gold because his is mined out. Soulkey has too much Lings, Roaches and Banelings and Maru has only like 2 Medivacs, few Hellbats and few Marines and even less SCVs, tries to fight but fails. And that is it.

You can not say "suicide" if Maru microes do this and baneling is a one hit thing. I have seen a lot games with only drop one marine to a baneling. Hellbat is better vs baneling, because you need more banelings to kill it.
I can say that because there was no reason for him to be underneath Medivac in the first place. Banelings are better when they are hitting big chunk of army, but he was under Medivac and they were hitting single unit that was dropping, he just wasted those Banelings for no reason.

Funny, I made the exact same trade. Kinda regretting it now.
Finally Jin Air gets their act together and puts out sOs in the Ace instead of maru. I really do think that this is the better choice, but only time will tell

It was more Soo not having spine and spore wall to counter runby. There was like 1 snipe every 5 min, and absolutly nothing happended at the same time. It's not really SPL standard imho. It looked like 2 bronzes that didn't know what to do and dropping roach every once in a while. All in all nothing happened and they were both (Soo more) Late in everything, like teching 3/3 sky, dropping spires, getting another Hive, etc. I found this game really bad.

I play mech, I know how to appreciate positioning. There were no positionning on that game, both were just camping on their base all the time with some small runby till Rogue found his BL count high enough to attack with it.

I play mech, I know how to appreciate positioning. There were no positionning on that game, both were just camping on their base all the time with some small runby till Rogue found his BL count high enough to attack with it.

I actually think that's why so many people like that game, because it isn't usually to see nydus, drop, BL etc in ZvZ. But the game in itself was meh. I love smartplay, that's what turn me on on sc2. Polt is one of my favorite player for his smartness, not his micro :3 There is just a difference between positionning, smartplay, etc and just camping. I want to compare this game with Mech vs SH where the T camp on 4 bases and drop HB till he has enough raven to attack. This is boring too.
