Took almost no damage early on as well and just exploded in drones

They win because they pick yeonsu and force fights in chokeholds with them. Outside of that they're fucking awful against even a small amount of splitting.

See Maru would normally of been fine then but Symbol should pretty good game sense i think or maybe just random luck im not sure. But making that many banelings when seeing not enough splash damage from his opponent made him able to do that. Maru would of had the perfect army vs a muta heavy zerg which is what the gas normally goes into. Vs a mass Bane army he was not even close xD Not even his splits would be enough to deal with 77 banelings!

Maru should have just build Colossi, and he would've won that EZ.

Just because Maru didn't have Tanks nor Mines, Symbol managed to do what he did, making 70+ Baneling and rolling over everything. Well they can still work great on more open space but imagine if all those mines exploded when terran army retreats into a choke. We would have another ForGG vs. Stephano incident. They are really not reliable AOE at all. They aren't reliable, but if you have more than few of them, like 7-10 and with good positioning, you will do a lot of damage against Ling/Bane. Having not-so-reliable AoE is still better than having no AoE whatsoever.

I will shave a Protoss insignia into my head if Bbyong manages to win this season.
It's that unlikely. He looked AWFUL in his group, the only reason he won was because TRUE looked even worse.

Problem; Mines are the only way to deal with banes, hellbats are stronger vs mutas (more lings), Terran picks, Zerg reacts so usually has the better comp.
