SPONSORSHIP INCREASE - The prizepool has now been raised to 14 BTC

Official undercard match announced. Destiny vs Incontrol in a BO3 for 1BTC

In 2013, foreign players have battled bravely against the onslaught of Korean competition in Starcraft 2. Most fell without much resistance but a few stood their ground and proved that you didn't need a Korean teamhouse to win games. Foremost amongst those players were the Canadian Zerg (Z)Scarlett and the Swedish Protoss (P)NaNiwa. Strangely, these players have not played against each other in competition in Heart of the Swarm at all, their last encounter was during Wings of Liberty, a result now considered irrelevant. Finally these players will face each other to claim both bragging rights as the dominant foreign player in Starcraft 2 and a huge prize.

Spoiler-free VoDs

Part 1:

Part 2:

The biggest showmatch in Starcraft 2 history

It doesn't get much bigger than this. The prize for this tournament is 14 BTC, which at the time of writing exchanges for over $10,000. This would be a large prizepool for your average tournament but it is the largest prizepool for a single showmatch in Starcraft 2 history. This prizepool has been provided by bitcoin enthusiasts and companies who wish to represent and promote the growth of the cryptocurrency.

This match decides who is the best foreigner, should really have been at least a Bo9. Anyways hype! Going to be awesome.

By the way any chance to see some community map? Would really help the map making community if a new map was used here.

Is this a full winner-takes all? :O That is a pretty sick prize for the victory, in Nani's case especially though having the top foreigner bragging rights might be the bigger deal!

Any chance this can be Bo9?

So hard to predict who I think will win. I'm thinking Naniwa's vZ is a lot stronger than Scarlett's vP. Then again, Scarlett has been playing some of her best games ever recently.

Although, gonna have to give it to Naniwa. Hoping for a close 4-3 so we see plenty of games!

I've got the perfect solution to avoid any potential balance complaints; both of them play terran!

This way, we are guaranteed good games, it will be completely fair since both players off-race and no one will be able to make excuses.

you mean besides "I am much better at my main race than terran and I would have won in a ZvP"?
They should switch races, naniwa zerg vs scarlett protoss
Assuming normal Naniwa vs Scarlett Naniwa 4-2

Amendment: No one will be able to make passable excuses.

We could just throw a complete curveball and announce that they will be playing Halo on Xbox live with a random group.

They should take advantage that Scarlett is in Europe and do the showmatch while both are in Europe.
Cross server = lag whinning
