why exactly didn´t he kill that spire when he killed the base next to it? why exactly would you run around on the map against zerg without having a recall ?

I really don't like Protoss being able to constantly scout the entire map for mere energy. Why did Protoss barely ever get the hallucination upgrade in the past when we now see it in nearly every game?

Hallucinate used to be 50/50, there was also a lot more pressure early game that's been nullified by nexus cannon so you can now afford to spend sentry energy on hallucinations.

Really? I thought only Warp Gate was 50/50 and Hallucination was 50/100... Then again I didn't play very much Protoss in WoL.

Exactly, there's no reason to not put the hallucination upgrade back in place. Ya have photon overcharge now to dispel pretty much any early aggression.

You knew what terran was doing, you couldn't really afford it in pvp, it was mainly used in pvz to scout for spire timings.

I was wondering why he suddenly stopped posting. Still nowhere close to Drazerk's record.
squirtle won the GSTL for IM, he's not doing that bad, definitely not worse than ST where the only thing he achieved after losing to Mvp was throwing a winners bracket advantage to creator in wcs kr.
wow... weird. Squirtle playing so weird. Letting Terran build up bases without challenge, throwing away zealots. don't most Ps pressure when they send zealot runbys? Squirtle just sends them in while leaving his army at home, which just throws away 700/800 minerals for nothing.

It looked weird but I think fantasy knew he probably couldn't engage that army so he just kept avoiding it. Squirtle wasnt even really mining for a long period of time, but I think fantasy should have tried to engage at the end instead of splitting all those ghosts off and attacking with them. That was weird he already did all the damage he could have, he even killed all those stargates.

imo you can't. You have to go for mass ghosts and cross your fingers that you can close out before tempests hit the field. against 7-9 tempest with those colossus numbers, you can pack your bag and leave.

squirtle played that out horribly. he had no defence at his expansions. if there are 5-6 cannons and one HT, you have a lot of trouble killing them off with small forces. and if you commit a huge army, then the huge protoss army can come too.

never wanted to make it an indication of balance lol i am just curious
Well in an ideal world the terran would have way more resources, so more freedom to make oc's/sac scv's/switch his bio into more ghosts/vikings/maybe ravens. While it was a very different situation, when sos went tempest vs innovation at wcs finals innovation was just able to outmaneouver him and hit all over the map. I don't know how reliable that would be a real lategame situation though.
That said, going tempest is still very uncommon so none knows for sure quite yet.

thanks for the answers, guys. but now that i remember this game, i also remember that tempest are very slow, mb on another map a terran would have a much better chance to multitask the toss to death

It's not that new... Go some form of defensive roach/hydra play, then switch into melee ups and mutas when he goes Colossus. But it's not that good if Protoss just takes a third or goes stargateheavy.
The corruptors were a nice touch. Usually the Z only uses hydra/ling to pressure with that build; i think DRG thought he woudln't do damage with a faster timing because of the map/spawning positions so decided to add corruptors (which have the additional bonus of tricking the protoss into thinking mutas aren't coming). Trap moving out at a dumb timing helped ofc, but that looks scary anyway :O

Seems like a lot of corruptors and baiting the collossi timing by making it look like a muta bank. Then crush the push then go muta. Gets so much more mileage out of your ground forces than if you just go straight mutas.
I think walling so fast is bad because you way oversupply yourself, better get the bunker near the ramp and faster 3th imo. And then slowely rewall 1 depot at a time.

If the viper buff goes through ( vipers spawn with full energy ) there could even be a ling/hydra/viper variation. This style makes we want to play again after a long time.
This group of death producing such low level games, makes me a sad panda for actually watching and not being able to watch MKP as i been told his group is 13:00KST Guess i'll do some work at work xD

He's barely been supply blocked that I've noticed.
Poor Fanta this could be the end of him? I mean he isn't getting better, he isn't getting out of Code A, he isn't getting younger? Surely he will start to fall out of love with the game not being at the top of the tree?
Someone tell Catz to call in a "PLACE YOUR OVERLORDS PROPERLY" note for Yugioh. Yugioh should have easily seen every single drop on the South side without issue.

Yeah he definitely should've placed some Overlords in tthe bottom of the map. No excuse for that.

Fantasy's games are so much fun to watch, partially because he's by no means perfect and always looks so fragile which makes it so much more fun when he wins.

This game makes me appreciate how good Polt is. Those baneling attacks would be almost useless with Polt's constant splits while macroing superbly. Fantasy floated 2k min/ 1.5k gas. Game should of been over by T long ago.

By the way, I'd suggest to change the "One of the best games of the year" option to "One of the best games of the season". A season is a more useful unit in term of spectator memory and metagame.

You know Polt floats A LOT of minerals right due to his speed- he's a very slow player. He doesn't win because he has great macro or multitasking. He wins through good micro and great decision making.

The Nestea award is for GSL not OSL.
As if Leenock could control it being OSL.

10 Code S placements in a row. OSL for obvious reasons did not count for it, and since Leenock did not make it into Code S this season, he was denied it, though he did play in OSL. So far people who have gotten Nestea award dropped into Code B that very season afaik though, so i am worried for DRG

Both come up with their own achievement....
yes exactly. MVP didn't get a golden mouse for his 4 GSL wins either.

Still, OSL is´nt GSL. OSL gave Maru a royal road as well, although he played GSL since 2010.

It would have been different if it was a separate qualifier for OSL yes. But in the end Leenock got fucked by higher powers since he did qualify for 10 seasons in a row with GOM's rules. And then got fucked because Blizzard made WCS and he just happened to qualify for OSL.
If Blizzard never made WCS he would have gotten the award. How can anyone argue he didn't get fucked by higher powers?

point is, the current format demands WCS awards, not GSL/OSL rewards. it's simply pointless to keep the same reward systems
this is IMO yet another manifestation of the power struggle between gom and ogn/kespa
I think keeping the Korean ones the same is fine (10 GSL season's is probably to much now). It would be cool if NA / EU came up with something cool in the future.

adds to the hilarity of the map, with the movie screen of a sc2 match. And even a Marine should not be hindered by the chairs

Very true Blords might be difficult, but with the ability of that comp being all warpgate tech you can find timings pre Blords, but even if not you should have nice map control with that army so the ability to throw down the stargates should be easier than harder.

Nestea, MVP and now DRG has it, SuNo and Leenock lost it on the 10th season, MKP will try get his tomorrow.
It'd be MKP vs his rivals in that group hahaha
Thats what I wanted to know, man I so hope MKP can pull trough, it would at least be a nice moral boost for him to get the NesTea award, maybe he can pull himself together and start performing well afterwards.

One map before code S, only swagger stands in his way it should be an easy advance. Then suddenly he looks to the other booth and sees not swagger, but MVP.
MKP proceeds to get bopped by a marine poke from MVP and breaks down into tears again.

That was just silly. Oh well another SC2 day in Korea is over, it's time to work for the last 3hours at work. GGs (well they weren't but lets be manner bears <3)
However, I have to say it, Khaldor is a terrible caster tonight. What he says is often very very wrong. Oh, you have never seen muta roach? It's actually a fucking decent combination, especially when the opponent uses his factory a lot (for hellbats and/or mines)
"I prefer XXX position" when XXX has done some minimal damage in the early game, but is now severely on the backfoot.
That's a shame because he is normally so much better than that.
how does DRG doing this? looking mediocre in some tournaments and then 3-0 or 4-0 in the up and downs, then fall out in a miserable way again. havent seen any matches because of work :/

Phew, glad to see DRG through. I've been reading that his games didn't look so hot, so hopefully he can make like Prometheus and steal someone elses' fire.
Squirtle vs Fantasy was interesting. Squirtle almost went full foreigner and lost the game. Glad to see a super late game PvT like that. Although I personally think Squirtle made too many Tempests, but it worked out for him in the end.
I don't know why people say the games were bad..? Watched the DRG v. Fantasy set and it wasn't a terrible game except that Fantasy was at half the APM of DRG throughout the game. ^^ It was incredible to watch DRG maintain 170+ food for 10+ minutes, while battles were ongoing. He would be unstoppable once (and if) he learns how to engage correctly.
I suppose the casters' influence was always the culprit. Did Wolf/Khaldor keep picking on Fantasy's supply block or something?
