I guess the problem was that he rushed those SH's so fast and then didn't really do anything with them. Why not take a third with lings/spines and then get the econ up earlier. He might have held that push had he not made 22 drones just beforehand.

but why did he get fast swarm host then ? just to do nothing ?
Those broodlords hardly got a chance to do anything, some good aggressive blinking there. Probably my favourite game to watch so far today. Always happy to see Swarm Hosts lose.

You generally have to stay 2 base vs gateway expands, at least initially. Better to use that time to tech and get useful units that force the protoss to react rather than spines (don't really cover the third well) and lings (pretty useless on this map due to easy toss third) which soak up larvae (which you're low on). It was basically a build designed to get 4 base + hive tech and beat a toss 3 base timing which is the standard play for this map.

Have to agree with this, rushing to swarm hosts to use as a defensive unit from the start doesn't really make much sense. It would be different if he already had a 3 base economy, but a zerg that is playing defensive on 2 bases is not one that is going to win very often.
