HSC is mostly invites, that's like handing extra WCS points to people they choose to invite. | ||

According to the MLG guys only 25% of players need to be from an open qualifier for the event to be a Tier 1 WCS event | ||

In the last one only 4 out of 32 players were not invites, since they don't cover expenses for 2nd place in qualifiers, and the NA and KR runner ups couldn't come. | ||

And I dont think it matters if qualified players give up their spot when it comes to WCS status ( I dont think Blizzard would revoke the status of Tier 1 just because a player couldnt make it) | ||
