Here I thought the finals would have an event like GSL. Surprised it's already over. :/

I'm sure if ESL feels they can hold a bigger event and break even through ticket sales they'll try to make it happen, but that seems way to risky for season 1.

Rewatched part of the games and I'm really surprised how much confidence Mvp had in his mech play. It really hasn't been impressing me at all in HotS so far, but maybe there's something I'm missing.

Oh not sure if its here yet, updated MVP smile:

Except MVP can only play in WCS EU, not KR and AM, but Rafael can play in US, Australia, and London, totally different situation.

If Stephano won MVP, No one will be complaining about having koreans in WCS EU. They will just hype Stephano to extreme ends again. So thats be real here, MVP plays better, the better player won.

Imagine the hate if it hadn't been Mvp, but another, less popular Korean who switched regions and won WCS EU. Where is Sniper when you need him? :p

MVP vs Dimaga Game 2 was probably the most exciting and intense match I've seen in HoTS so far. It was so back and forth with each player dealing punches then returning the favor. MVP was looking sharp today and I enjoyed the plethora of builds he demonstrated in the finals.

Winners gonna win. If you want to win the big money, then win your games---don't avoid the best by holing yourself into your region (but still get paid equally). People were happy enough to shout about how "Europe isn't America" and "EU holds" and "EU = KR" when top foreigners were beating Code B Koreans. I have no sympathy for regions with over 300 and 700 million people being unable to beat the players from a country with 50 million. People love an underdog story for some reason, but I love the winner's story, because I want to see the best, hardest-working players succeed in a competition.

Just finished the VOD and have to say, what a great day of SC2. The production from ESL was simply amazing . . definitely leading the way for Starcraft now, even more so than GOM. ESL deserves huge recognition for this.

Speaking of viewers, anyone know what it peaked out at today?

114k on the english stream, and about 20k more on the alternate languages streams.

Just about as good as Dreamhack did, minus the Swedish TV audience.

I spoke many times about ESL production but I wanted to add a huge shoutout to ReDeYe who's doing a fantastic job as a host. This man is so classy and is always looking for valorizing the players. Congrats Paul !
