Losers' Match
Curious vs Marineking
Game 1: Daybreak

Curious starts in the bottom left location
Marineking starts in the top right location

0:00-4:00min
Rax and Gas for Marineking, Hatch first for Curious
Marineking completes his wall with a 2nd Depot and denies Curious' scouting Drone
Reaper in production after a single Marine, Pool and Gas for Curious

4:00-6:00min
Curious produces 2 Lings and 2 Queens, loses the 2 Lings to the Reaper but saves damaged Drones by building Extractors
Marineking builds a 2nd and 3rd Command Center and a Factory and Reactor

Hellions for Marineking, some Speedlings for Curiours

6:00-8:00min
Curious tries to take a 3rd but the first 2 Hellions kill the Drone
Curious attacks with a few Lings and kills 3 SCVs

Marineking wants to apply some pressure with 6 Hellions and the Reaper, Curious has a bunch of Lings and uses them for a run-by

8:00-10:00min
Curious takes out MKP's Bunker and the Marines, MKP is forced to pull back the Hellions for defense which allows Curious to get his third up
Both players start double upgrades, also Lair starts for Curious

10:00-12:00min
MKP tries to harass with his Hellions once again and Curious chooses to do a Ling-runby once again
Lings do huge amount of damage in MKPs natural and main, Hellions a lot of damage in Curious natural

Curious loses 17 Drones, MKP lost a total of 26 workers

12:00-14:00min
another Ling attack by Curious forces MKP to lift his third, Curious also starts his Spire
Both players continue upgrading, Marineking finally gets a Marine-Medivac army up

14:00-16:00min
Marineking builds Mines, Curious builds a bunch of Mutas and takes a 4th base
Curious keeps Lings on Marineking's side of the map for run-bys

Curious attacks the main with Mutas and the natural with Lings, doing quite a bit of damage
Marineking's widow mines are out of position

16:00-18:00min
Marineking had to lift his main and is only now able to re-take it, Curious keeps harassing with Mutas
Marineking goes for a huge marine-medivac-mine attack and splits his Marines well against Curious ling-baneling army

18:00-20:00min
Curious camps MKP's main with his Mutas, Marineking iis not able to get enough marines out for defence
Marineking on the other hand takes out Curious third but constant reinforcements and a single Swarm Host soften up Marineking's army more and more

Marineking is down to a single Rax and Factory producing, Curious re-builds his third and is still mining from the main, natural and 4th

20:00-22:00min
Curious attacks with Lings and a lot of Mutas and cleans up the rest of Marineking's main and natural, Marineking has a single Thor and 2 Marines and tries to turtle at his 3rd base

Curious just goes ahead and takes down the last CC with Banelings and Marineking types the GG and leaves the game.
Curious takes game 1!

Almost all Korean terran players can split like that now. What MKP seems to lack that stops him being top-tier is composure and decision-making.

It's like he refuses to be careful.

kinda both, mkp is outmicroing and macroing curious but he just messes up everything anyway, and curious is doing very good decisions

That nails it imho.

MKP didn't necessary play bad, he just was caught off guard by Curious aggression.
Terrans are not used to it and thats also why Life is so successful with it.

Exactly. He isn't known for best micro anymore. I find it pretty bad that the only things(well almost) that he does are all-ins or very greedy openings.

Ugh, unless you deal a deathblow, suiciding all your Helloins for drones is only bad. It removes all your map presence, prevents you from applying decent pressure or effectively posturing and weakens your defense, opening you up to Ling/Bane aggression. It leaves the Zerg perfectly safe to drone up, expand, attack and/or tech in whatever combination they prefer. It is just such a bad trade, high risk trade, I am baffled that I still see professional Terrans do it.

Here, it allowed Curios to take a fourth, apply pressure with Zergling and build a huge Muta ball. Keeping those Hellions alive would have prevented that Zergling pressure and kept Curious in his base and not expanding until those Mutas actually came out.

It is just such a bad decision, which I guess means I should not be too surprised to see MKP do it, haha. Decision making has never been one of his strengths...

MC fell yesterday... So did DRG. I can't have MKP not make it to the ro16 too :[ I'm happy there is a new generation of players stepping in, but I don't want to let go of my legends!
