I think this will be a pretty good match since Stars and SKT are doing pretty well in proleague so far. sOs seems to play much better here than he does in the GSL. Do you guys think Soulkey will be able to take out Rain?

My predictions soo gets 1 kill and then gets whooped bisu gets sent out after and gets 2 kills fanta or rain come in for the kill
I previewed this week's proleague matches as part of the TL Writer's application, so I figured I might as well post that prediction here.
SK Telecom T1 will not be pleased with the outcome of their last match, losing to the new kids on the block in EG-TL. Woongjin is coming in at second place in the rankings with their most recent win being a strangely narrow 4-3 over Samsung Khan, the current piñata of the league. As such, both teams have something to prove. SKT that their loss against EG-TL was a fluke and that they are still the best KT in Proleague, and Woongjin wanting to show that they do not only have what it takes to compete with every team, but what it takes to dominate even the toughest opposition on a regular basis, having beaten both KT and SKT last round. This match will likely come down to a battle between the teams’ aces, with Woongjin bringing Soulkey and sOs with ZerO as a solid support player, and SKT bringing Fantasy – a hype train picking up the pace, and Rain with soO as their solid support. Rain’s PvP is amazing, but sOs is no slouch in the match-up either. Soulkey comes off a slew of clutch performances with Fantasy riding the wave of his recent 3-kill. If the teams’ aces take each other out and this comes down to a fight between one or two other core players, I’m handing the advantage to Woongjin with Flying(I'm still not fully convinced he's bad now; he might have had a rough patch but he was one of the best protosses in KeSPA last season and that should mean at least something) and ZerO, but knowing the star-power of SKT (and hoping for Bisu) this can really go either way.
On January 13 2013 10:26 LighT. wrote: Anyway.. predictions: Soo > ZerO Soo < Light Rain > Light Rain < Soulkey Fantasy > Soulkey Fantasy < Dear BeSt > Dear
I hate to Rain on SoO's parade, but there was ZerO chance of him winning that game. It was a total Fantasy constructed by a Free mind Flying to conclusions, and without a proper SoulKey, SKT will sSak any advantage they had.

It's pretty damn impossible in this format. Because if you were to send out a weaker player out after the 2nd spot you'd be making it really dangerous for your team. I miss the Beesuit.

Tbh i think he lost the game because of that last engagement, it was just terrible positioning cause of the arc's.

Fruitdealer kept making headway into Hongun's natural but HongUn used some great simcity to just keep walling off as the roaches and lings tore down the buildings in front. I'll try to find it, it's really fun to watch.

I really need an explanation.
Because there is 2 entrances leading out from the natural. When a toss heads out with his stalker and zealot you can slide the zerglings in unnoticed until it's too late just like Rain did.
Anybody else notice SNM is pacing himself talking? Taking his time speaking to not stutter all over his words. Still don't like his casting, but to give him some credit
Why? There's no colossi to take advantage of squishiocity of hydras and they outrange immortals slightly, so FF's can potentially really hurt the push by limiting the damage it can deal to the zerg army :<

SNM and Whiplash have probably put tons of work into improving their casting, a lot of little things.
I don't know why anyone would recommend that game. PvZ has really become the worst matchup to watch from a spectator perspective. You're almost always going to see one of two things, neither of which is especially exciting.

Like others have said, make him burn FF's out in the open while he is moving to your base. Try to engage from multiple sides causing him to burn more forcefields. Rain was smart in that he brought plenty of sentry's with him knowing map. It's really really hard to defend even if you get everything to go your way regardless.

Not really, his vZ has been good since BWC. He lost vs Zerg here and there, but this matchup is very solid for him. My guess is they had Antiga, and didnt want to send any zerg on Ohana.

I would say because you don't get many mutas by the time the push gets to your 3rd and protoss can easily warp in a bunch of stalkers.

It's a tough situation. The zerg needs enough units to be worth using forcefields (you can't just ran 20 lings into the army, the toss will just a-move over it), then beyond this, sometimes the protoss knows you're trying to bait and don't fall for it.
If you want to have a decent amount of units at their end of the map when they move out, you have to stop at like 50 drones. So if you want to wait till 60ish drones, you don't have a good size army till he's on your side of the map, and you have slow roaches that are easy to segment off and kill.
Baiting forcefields and whatnot is correct, but it's a lot harder to execute it properly

Muta tech is too late, this attack is clearly earlier than standard muta timing. It also doesn't make sense for zerg to go early 2-base muta tech if they don't have any info about protoss's tech. And that will be too obvious for protoss.

1 Base Colossus is such a bad build in PvP. I can't remember the last time I've seen it work. You're putting so much into tech while your opponent may have a Nexus up with a better economy while you have a smaller army since you invested into an expensive ass unit off of one base. I really hope Rain smashes this.

That was the first time I've seen that build work in like a year maybe. It usually gets destroyed for the reasons I mentioned. Rain should have had way more units than he did.

Yeah, so scouting is the real problem here. Zergs got faster overlords and I still dont see every zerg player scout with them... I dont think muta tech is too late if you try to stall time with roaches or lings until the spire is done. Like in Tvp with the 111, you have to not let the pushing player just walk to your base.

Yeah, I think Coach Park just got married or had some kids and decided to step down. As sad as that game was, you have to throw in your rookies sometime. If you don't, they'll always be rookies. I trust Boxer's decision. Ssak probably performs well in practice but just keeps getting thrown off early and/or he's choking.

Unlike s2 he at least had a build and confidance. Also Rain had a small loss streak woulda been a better option but s2 never even played ACE game before in his career and sending him in playoffs without any build prepared was pathetic.
You really think the owners are stupid enough to fire park over an ace match decision in the shitty hybrid proleague when he's coming off an epic win over KT in the previous season? Guy was the best coach in the league, as much as I hate the team.

Following the theme of yesterday of making assumptions and overthinking things I'd say it's becaues the coach is luring sOs into a false sense of security, so once he loses his streak against Fantasy, he'll fall into an immediate slump.

Coach park stepped down as a coach and I still believe in Boxer. Just look at what happened to slayers 2011
I know the official statement but this was predicted after he screwed up by sending s2 twice in playoffs over Bisu/Fanta as ACE and s2 lost in similar way ssak lost - looking like b-teamer. I know how good Park was on BW and prolly the best coach but in SC 2 he had only Rain when others had no clue. Maybe he stepped down but I have my opinion. In NHL the best winning % coach of 4 last years got sacked when his team started season bad - so owners are picky.

I want to know the same thing but nobody has yet to answer TT.
They asked JD something along the lines of do you consider flash your main rival and JD was going to say yes but then got embarrassed/modest and cut himself off mid-sentence.
SNM would be 100% more tolerable if he just casted what was going on instead of saying what the players should do or need to do because he's constantly wrong and just drags it on.
Very nice by Light. Didn't think this his push was going to do so much damage by Fantasy threw away his little bioball out of position and it wasn't even close after that.
Where the hell did Light get that army? I didn't pay as close attention to this game as I should have but I was shocked he was ahead by so much supply.
Getting Last for Light is coming back to bite me... Especially since now I can't trade back and Light will most likely get more points over the rest of the season

decent day, with speed and light picking up points for me. fokins and soulkey also with the team points, too bad i traded WJS for EG-TL sigh. should've picked shy over soulkey at the beginning too haha.

He went up to five factories early and pumped straight units while Fantasy spent money on his third and upgrades.

Lesson learned, Mr. Jung: If you're not going to make vikings, you sure as hell should have a thor.
Yeah. He definitely needed a turret or a thor and he woulda held that relatively easy I think. He had a healthy tank count which was gunna be near unbreakable without banshees and his eco + 2/2 was just kicking in.

I don't think Fantasy ever scouted Light not taking a third. Looked like he was definitely unprepared for how quick that push was =*(

He also lost a lot of marines when he went out with his bio ball. He was probably thinking those would be enough for anti air.
Very surprising to see Light getting sent out over Sin in a TvT as the latter is better in the matchp. I guess the coaches didn't want to put too much pressure on him.

how do you know the latter is better? light hasn't played a TvT in a long while and i'm sure the coaches were confident in him

Technically I don't know but Sin always faced last round and he was 4-2. He also already beat Fantasy before, though it was a wierd game.
SKT not doing as great as they did R1, but they are only losing by a fairly small margin. I hope they can change things around in the upcoming matches.

same with TL-EG. both teams have had some tough 3-4 losses
I thought SKT would crush this round because they have a sick 1-2 punch of Fantasy and Rain and a good third with soO that would be able to take 4 wins between them almost all the time. Hasn't worked out so far
