Wow... That is one of the less intelligent things I've read in a LR thread for a while. Did you watch the Season 2 finals? Do you know what a mess that was, and all the (big) mistakes Riot made. Besides, this is Homestory Cup. Normal rules and standards don't quite apply here.

Xlord was up a base, had a bigger bank, had a bigger army, had a better army composition, and had Stephano contained. Given how well Xlord has been playing this event, it's fair to assume he wasn't going to just move-click into Stephano if the game continued.

Lol at XLord's general attitude pretty sure he is gonna be hated as everything he says is cocky and arrogant. He played well but it was noway 100% win he had 5 fungals against a concave he was gonna facepalm into with 5 roaches attacking the 4th with 2/3rd's hp which could of been saved, Stephano had 2-2 and he had 2-0, infestors or not with hydras that difference is HUGE.

XlorD had the win 99 % of the times. Correct decision in my opinion.

and the loser is blizzard (once again)

As all mention, xlord had a massive lead and he show in the last game, that he bring that to a win. In my opinion is xlord reaction normally, what you will you do in his situation, as you see, you win that game 90% sure. REspect at stephano, that he give finally xlord that win... No. If the game disconnected before Stephano went for his sandwich attack everyone would give him the "win" and look how that turned out. Also do you remember artosis vs slush? http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/TeamLiquid_SC2_Invitational_2

Well... I sort of understand XLORD in this case. You are about to win vs Stephano and then it'S taken away from you by technical issues.
You wouldn't consider it fair to replay a football match when one team is leading 3:0 in the 75th minute and suddenly the floodlights go out, preventing the game from finishing, would you?

Funny how people are disagreeing with the decision when it was Stephano's decision.

The admins did what any admin in the situation would do, ask an expert. In this case, experts.
Same thing happened to me at IPL4 vs a protoss, you know what the admins did? They grabbed a pro zerg and a pro protoss to look at the replay and examine whether or not i deserved the win. This game was the same situation, one player was in a significantly superior position, so decide whether the other had a chance to comeback (which in this case was also dependant on micro) then you have to look at what has occurred, and so far xlord was micro'ing better than stephano in engagements and it would be safer to assume that xlord would not mess up vs stephano messing up. Therefore, it is possible to call it a win for xlord.

I hope stephano beats mma and we'll get a stephano-xlord grudematch
|
Good for dimaga to take a stand there against voting. That would be totally unethical to make the observing players decide, on camera, with stephano and xlord watching. If the admins don't understand the game, they can listen to the players' input and do their job making a decision instead of trying to throw someone else under the bus publicly. Still, it made for an entertaining broadcast.
It is interesting to think that TLO was there adding his input, when just a few weeks back he was in the longest ZvZ imaginable on the same map where he came back from perhaps even larger of a deficit.

I don't like decisions like that. If a player isn't 100% dead, it should always be regame. Sucks for the guy who is winning, but the disconnect isnt the fault of the players. A bad call by the Admin imo.
|
obviously, a disconnect gives an advantage to the losing player if you accept a regame. a good way to settle this is to give a counter-advantage to the one that was winning. for example, in a full round robin format, you could accept to go for a regame, but if it ends 2-1 then give it 2-0 to the player that was winning (since points matter in a round robin format). same here, 2-0 in a bo5 was a good way to have everyone being a little happier. but apparently xlord prefered behaving like a 12yo, raging openly on the cam and calling the game a "fucking freewin".

Alex Garfield's Twitter @supimreallycool yes, it should, @MonsterGaming. expect zero EG players at homestory cup vii if they don't finally use admins. casual is cool, sloppy is not.
Oh damn! Not good!

They suggeted that but xlord refused, hence why he lost all respect from a lot of fans.

Besides, it's not like Stephano will lose to MMA.
MMA is probably at his lowest point in his career right now.

Imagine White-ra, MaNa, MMA or anyone else with some manners screaming "look, it's a fucking free win." You can always stay classy and say "in my opinion there is no way to lose this game, 'cos I would do: a, b, and then c" or something like that.

Is this honestly your first time seeing things like this happen? I'm quite intrigued with all the guys up in arms about this because guess what? This happens frequently when the advantages can be spotted. Good on Stephano for debunking it and showing good sportsmanship. I honestly think this is the closest game ever where a win was given to a player, just look at previous examples. There need to be general rules for these situations, the way this was handled was unacceptable imo
