Might get really close, with SKT's heavy hitters only on g5+6 - if they have really bad luck, they might get 4-0ed here. I think Fantasy and Rain might turn it around for a 4-3 in the ace match.
No one related to my fpl team is playing. i guess no bisu and him on my antiteam is going ok, though. Wasn't impressed with Woongjin last wee. SKT should take this
So Bisu is replaced by JyJ - good decision because it's an auto loss at this point... something must change for him to start wining and maybe he should switch to terran.
BisuDagger you dropped the ball. Where's the [SPL] in your thread title? Don't you see the trend in the tournament section of [tournament abbreviation]Name of tournament/part of tournament being played?
Also, sOs > ParalyzE Soulkey > JyJ Flying < soO ZerO < BeSt BrAvO < FanTaSy free < Rain

SKT 4-2.
No skt dropped the ball by not fielding Bisu. Lol, well its been a while since I made an LR and I was at work but thanks for the catch.

Pocari Sweat is a grapefruit flavoured energy drink.. really not that exciting, or nice. It's ok if you're tired or dehydrated, but I didn't like drinking it as just a drink.
On December 15 2012 14:22 eviltomahawk wrote: Hmmm, was that Light with the medical face mask? Perhaps he is still sick?
Does he have like a serious medical problem? Wearing a mask in public is nuts lol
Medical masks are rather common in Asian countries. It's courteous to wear them to prevent others from catching the sickness no matter how minor it is.

Tempests do the same dps as a sentry to other Tempests.
80 to massive air, 3.3 attack cooldown. It won't be Tempest vs Tempest because then blink stalkers and/or voidrays would murder them. It will probably be a nice mix of stuff and none of this colossus blob nonsense

Unless someone goes VR first it's definitely Tempests vs Tempests and generally with zealots. If they go blink < speed lots. The meta in PvP in HotS is equally as dumb. Trust me. They just need to remove these units so we don't have lazer beam fights or flying ball fights >.> ;;...

WHAT?! Rain is LAST in the line-up?! Why you hate me FPL?!
Ok, I need Soulkey, Flying, and someone else on Woongjin to win so that it goes to 3-2, and then my FPL Captain Rain can win and force it to the ace match and then WIN in the ace match, which is good for a total of 9 points. YEAHHH!

It seems fairly common when the T sits on marine/tank. It's so much more mineral heavy than gas, especially once they finish their upgrades in the later stages of the game.

The only big mistake by Soulkey was a weak creepspread and OL spread to spot that drop in time to stop it. If he protects his 4th then it wouldnt have looked quite as close.

He made Ro4? I think you mean Ro8. I mean he's pretty darn good, but his ZvT was not very inspiring. You can't say Soulkey played brilliantly this game. How many infestors did he donate? The casters really commend him but it wasn't as great as they make it out to be. You could tell he was slightly lost during the early-late game. a lot of it had to with JYJ being even more lost than him.

He lost his creep spreading queens with the first push and a lot of tumors. Doesn't excuse his poor creep spread but playing muta ling bling it's hard to remember to remake those queens and spreading creep again once your rhythm gets disrupted. Still should work on it though

To be fair to Soulkey, that first marine push killed his Queen's that were spreading creep.

Considering he lost early queens and went muta the creep spread wasn't THAT bad. Besides if you go around judging a zerg's skill level based on creep spread you need to look a little deeper. Soulkey's a beast.

I already corrected the ro8 comment. You can point out mistakes by EVERY player EVERY game. Small supply blocks, some miss scouting here, failed target firing mutas when drops are caught, etc. Every game, every player, something. This was just me finally snapping at reading comments calling so many players bad, even when they end up winning the game. I'm just using this comment to make a point that IMO the viewers are far too critical on the play of the players, that there will always be mistakes by players in every game, and a lot of the big mistakes are often due to their opponent tasking the multitasking, or other forced errors.

They did that for EG-TL cuz of Jaedong fan girls. They are still BW fans. I think SC2 fans really don't do this.

No idea why he chose this build... if he wanted 7 gate and upgrade timing should have done blink 7gate +2... this is much less potent of a build.. still lookin good though! Maybe he chose it for some reason ^_^!

It's so friggin hard to see if you're ahead or behind after an opening like that. I really thought Fantasy was in a better position, but the army transition kinda sucks if you wait with the attack until opponent has siege tanks. Nice usage of hellions by Bravo, very smart!

I think he was ahead until he lost his reapers.
He lost the moment he decided to expand to the natural (which on Caldeum is like super open) instead of the main imo. And he didn't even use the econ advantage of mining/muling like a whole minute earlier that well.

Without his reapers, it was hard for him to cover the open natural.
Random question: Does anyone know if Kespa has released their intentions on when they'll switch to HotS? Might be a little awkward to change mid-season in proleague but people aren't going to be wanting to watch WoL a year from now.

+ 1. Fantasy saved maybe 30 seconds by taking the closer base, but it definitely cost him as it was a much more harassable base, Bravo did well in assaulting this point, and defending his more well placed base as well.
In games like that with imperfect information it's hard to blame someone for playing passively even if their army is better. Both players played amazingly. need more games like this, although i can't see this happening in z v z or p v p, haha.
I told you guys, SKT is just doing this so every match they have goes to ace match and we can all rejoice 3x harder and get the BW fans to transfer. Boxer the mastermind, or perhaps... they'll... lose T_T;; fantasyyy whyyyyyy

I would bet that the first 2-3 months of HotS won't be balanced enough to bear watching for e-sports, and that, assuming HotS comes out in march, KeSPA won't switch until at least early June, meaning it's far enough away we have no cause to worry about it!

They said they will switch and change schedule of Proleague once HoTS is out.
Well they sold me on the $5 subscription. Didn't even know about that. $5 is criminally cheap for an entire season's worth of HDstreams/Vods and entertainment.
I can't see any major event not switching to HOTS as soon as possible, blizzard will be talking to everyone atm and has given a lot of time to prepare for the switch.

The lighting on this version of Cloud Kingdom is pretty interesting. It's a lot clearer than what I've seen on other versions. It really helps readability since the lighting isn't as dark and the particle effects aren't as prominent.

Now they just need to fix the lighting on Caldeum and possibly Arkanoid.

not really, theyre b.os were fine.. they just made a few decision making errors. free's mistakes were understable because had he teched to collosus when he was contained he probably would have loss the game. his best option was to bust down the ramp(probably with a warpprism) and pray that rain wasnt paying attention. if he had a proxy pylon then it would have been a different story

Considering that Rain beat every good protoss in a series and Free is hanging in there is really impressive. It's better to try and break the contain early or you will get economicaly behind .
All those retarded posts "oh what a crappy game" are because of extremely tight competition, you know if barcelona meets real madrid and doesn't score 6 goals as usual you don't call it a bad game.

Free constantly kept trying to walk down ramp against an enemy with sentries. This means that rain could have killed like 4 units for free every time. Too bad rain also played bad so he missed many of the force fields, and when he did land the proper forcefields, he controlled hes army so bad that he managed to lose own units every time when he had a 4to1 advantage. Then rain aswell use blink cooldown to blink up ramp when he knew that free had been producing non stop immortals for past 4 minutes. Then free had 2robos but decided to not build constant colossus from it. Free built a warp prism just so he could do that 1 zealot haras, luckily rain was so bad that he lost 2 probes, tons of mining time, and a stalker against this 1 zealot. Also in the last engagent pulled 2 colossus and many of own zealots against that small zealot warp in and thus lost the battle. Rain had terrible blink micro during the whole game. Not one of the 20 engagement went propelly for him.
PvP is one of the "easiest" match up in a sense that if enemy makes a big mistake like both of the players kept doing in that game, you should use that advantage to play methodically and not make a single mistake and after a few minutes you have won the game.

Think of it this way: you considered picking a ton of players, and some were good, and some were bad. Think of all of the bad guys you were considering. And it's only week 2
Happen to get lucky and wake up just in time for the Ace match!!...... Ends up being a ZvZ on TDA... Oh well, It'll hold me out until GSL. Oh shit I just realized there is no GSL tonight......... Damn now I have 4 hours to fill in.
Also, take into account that SKT knew that Soulkey is going to come out. Whereas Woongjin could only really guess as to who will come out of Rain, Soo and Fantasy.

Sigh. Fine, they could make a very accurate educated guess that it will be Soulkey because Stars' coach isn't called January and who else would it be?
Woongjin could maybe write-off Fantasy due to his recent form, but they had no way of knowing whether Soulkey would play ZvP or ZvZ => no way to prepare anything specific.

They can guess who's going to be sent out on which maps and it's the ace match. Unless your name is January (nah, I kid several teams mix it up), its not so hard predicting which player would be sent out for the Ace match, so what the guy said is fair.

That's more than can be said for some other players on the team that are expected to win...

$5 for 7 months of proleague, totally worth it. If they asked for even 10 or 15 for that much of a duration I would have paid for it. Overall a good casting combo. I actually hope we get to see other English speaking casters rotate with it, but I'm fine with TB+Bitter.
Disappointed that soo lost that, wanted SKT to win tonight Also why they chose to put Tal'Darim in the map pool puzzles me. That's such an old map.

On a saturated base, you lose upwards of 1000/300 replacing a hatchery, not even counting the cost of the hatchery, but Soo only had a handful of drones mining at that hatchery.
Production matters, though. I mistakenly thought he had a macro hatch.

Proleague likes to have a versatile map pool, and TDA adds to that. Plus most of these players haven't actually played on TDA before, so it's as good as a new map to them.
Actually aside from any bias it may cause (wait, they already got TLO). I wanna hear Incontrol try to cast a few matches. Maybe in the future. Time will tell though.
Out of the 3 most obvious choices who SKT should have sent for that ace match though, I figure Soo was the most logical. PvZ on TDA is ugh, and Fantasy has been looking shaky since his Code A matches last night (although a TvZ on it would be a fun throwback I guess).

Beside, TDA might be old, but it is not that bad. You can also tailor your map pool with other maps toward the style that is opposite to TDA too to make games not boring with one style of map.

Well that all came down to Fantasy throwing the game away. Had he just build up workers non-stop and transition into macro game, he would win easily. All that traveling distance. Fantasy just cant get it right, when his plans doesnt work and he needs to improvise.
Quite an upset, quite bold to not put Rain in the Ace, unlike most Protoss he knows perfectly how to counter Zerg, and Soulkey was one of the more likelier picks for Woongjin to play Ace here..

Actually, having an anti team player losing an ace match is the only way to gain points on your anti. You get +1 on anti for a player's ace loss.
i think the player needs to lose twice to gain points? if they win their main lineup game and lose ace, then it's net zero
And if they didn't show up the main lineup?
then you can never "gain" points from them. they need to lose twice to "gain" one point
No. If the player is not in the lineup but plays and loses the ace match you get +1 on anti (+1 ace appearance, -2 ace loss) If the player loses twice in one match you also get +1 on anti (+1 lineup, -1 loss, +1 ace appearance, -2 ace loss) If the player wins his normal match but loses the ace match you get -2 on anti (+1 lineup, +2 win, +1 ace appearance, -2 ace loss)

I guess this is your first FPL? Generally, you should never trade a player for somebody half his value (Soulkey 41.14 > Wooki, 20.76) Also, you shouldn't drop potential ace players from your team (soulkey is a likely ace for woongjin, wooki will probably never play an ace match) However, at least you got somebody fairly decent. + Show Spoiler +
Wooki already earned you 4 points today and will probably get you another 5 in the next game)

I don't think SoO was a bad choice for ace, he might not be quite as good as Rain, but sending a Protoss on Tal'Darim against an almost certain Zerg (or PvP without ramp LOL) is worse. SoO's still a bit underrated I think because he's an SKT Zerg

You said that they "need to lose twice to "gain" one point". If they get fielded only in ace and lose that match you still gain one point on anti. Also, you said that "if they win their main lineup game and lose ace, then it's net zero". That's also not correct. This would lead to you losing 2 points on anti.

i heard that ace players need to be in the starting six - so "If they get fielded only in ace and lose that match you still gain one point on anti" wouldn't happen? unless you can get sent out as ace without being on the main lineup?
