I feel the need to remind people that balance commentary and complaints are not acceptable posts in LR topics due to the fact that they will derail any tournament topic that it is left unchecked in. If you participate in it you will be moderated.
It should also be clear that any SC2 vs LoL debates have no place in this thread. |

Can you really go for fast double expo against that if P makes no mistakes ? Cause Steph knew it was coming, didn't make any big mistakes, tried to delay, tried to flank and got rolled over :/ We've seen immortal sentry crushed more than a few times. BL/infestor... absoutely epic harass and then some luck. I think immortal sentry makes for way worse games though, every game is the same "are the forcefields good" and regardless if they are its not exciting. Broodlord Infestor, as bad as people make it out to seem, is alot more exciting because it at least forces protoss to try to outmaneuever the army, and involves alot more different strategies/potential in the matchup, although its obviously fucked up right now.
Eh. Too many games end up where after teh BL/infestor happens protoss can do some minimal chipping but can never really win a fight. That tweaks all the build up to that point putting so much pressure on toss to get something done before that point. Ofc I still think mass muta is just retarded both because of map design and in concept. At the same time, there seems to be so little for a zerg to manipulate beyond positioning. Kinda sad/surprised we stopped seeing baneling drop harass at all.
Immortal sentry comes down to positioning and scouting it seems. Honestly, haven't seen too many counter variations from the gasless 3 hatch in response but then again I watch much less than I did.

Omg what did just happend Actually cause a certain spell that makes the whole all-in (forcefield) that is impossible since it exactly blocks the whole running around and flanking.

Serious question here (no balance), how do you stop this ? he probably should have forced the engagement instead of backing of with the lings like 3-4 times, just showed that HerO was one step ahead and didn't waste a single forcefield, because he understood what Stephano tried to do. In the end though, it's mostly up the the protoss, which is the reason so many fans and players hate this build. If the FFs are immaculate, zerg is basically fucked. go watch MVPSniper hold this push in the GSL/GSTL he baits out Forcefields , it's possible to hold, you just need to be amazingly good. Maybe it was the protoss he faced who was bad at executing the build, didn't this even occur to your mind? Yea, Parting bad LOL. I guess Creator is bad too?
He executed it badly...okay, we all get it..Sniper is uber good, but guess what, he lost to theSTC.

And you need to protoss to actually respond to the baiting. Which is kind of the crux.
PvZ is just completely fucked overall, far too many "Hey look I got this unit I'm gonna win now!" scenarios. Immortal/sentry timings are just a part of it, but it is probably the worst offender when it comes to spectator enjoyment. It's like the distilled essence of an anti-climax.

Wonwonwon actually makes it better to watch; makes the game come to a resolution faster.
I agree. Immortal/sentry is more exciting to watch than waiting half an hour to see whether the vortex hits correctly or not.
+ Show Spoiler + Can be related to the immortal/sentry push actually a) containing moving units and b) being beatable. Even Parting loses with it against foreigners.

Could have dropped 3 spines at his third and just set lings in back for flank and held fine. Agree. Well I'm no expert but from what I've heard, you need to fight that strat on open space. I don't really see any way to properly flank if P is at your third and has mana for a billion FF. Yup, roachling should never be able to beat it if the protoss is half competent with his FF. You have to do what Suppy did with his million spines and super early lair. I didn't watch those games, but wasn't that build specifically designed to counter WonWonWon? I remember reading that he knew Parting would use it so he just blindly massed spines, it's not something that you can reliably do.
