Some exceptions would undoubtably be preferred though. Interesting - I would probably put life 1st. and add in MKP in the top 3 , and bump down symbol a few places . Being a terran im happy that some made it through, but even i am spellbound by life - the guy just doesnt play like the rest, parting i like, for personality. mkp ♥. And symbol i feel like has reverted into the boring bl-infestor type - which doesnt appeal to me. personally i Hope(but not really think) that we'll see Yoda wave the IM flag a bit more this season before falling. And im really agreeing with your lower part of the table ![]()

Congrats to Ryung for being the scrub to get through. :3

What could Ryung have done to win that game? Was he too passive? Life was able to take an earlier third (despite the much earlier third CC from Ryung) and fourth because of the map control the mutas gave him...is that it? Was it simply that Ryung needed to control better in his battles? How can Life be beaten? On paper it seems like he should've been at a HUGE disadvantage in that game, but you know what? I never really doubted that he would find a way to win. What gives?

The same thing has happened in the past with other players, 2011 Mvp, late 2011/early 2012 MMA, early 2012 MKP, early 2012 DRG, Taeja until recently.

Because if we get 8/8, it probably force Blizzard to do something before HoTS. In order for that to happen, each group has to have exactly 2 zergs. This is quite unlikely. But if it happens that each group has 2 zergs, then it's quite likely.

We went from protoss only WCS qualifier to 2.5 out of 16 (I imagine Rain would have passed) in Ro16 this season with no game change... Patching is overrated.

Life's 10 pool is still relatively economical (he delays the third set of lings to get double extractor trick in for two extra drones). With keeping 3 SCVs from mining for quite a bit and making them waste money on repair, plus delaying the nat being taken he doesn't actually end up too behind. The early double ebay looks nice, but you sacrifice being able to pressure and contain creep spread for it. With Ryung losing his 4 hellions for absolutely nothing, he had zero way of keeping Life from droning, expanding and creep spreading freely. Real story of that game though is Ryung reading the situation completely wrong and playing way too cautious. Yeah he got the early third CC, but delayed floating it to his third for a ridiculously long time. Of course taking the third is scary on Antiga, but he just misread the situation, not scouting Life's fourth and thinking Life would be aggressive when he was being relatively greedy behind his mutas. Life killing depots and delaying Ryung's production critically when Ryung wanted to secure the third was also a big deal. Then Ryung waited so long to take his fourth it looked like he'd just try to end it with a 3 base timing once he hit 3/2, but he waited until 3/2, then was content to just secure a really late fourth when Life was on 5 base and getting hive. I think if he actually goes for it there while taking his fourth behind it he has a decent chance of getting something done. They didn't actually show when Ryung found out about Life's fourth (and I missed it on the minimap), but I'm assuming it was just before he sent the drop that got picked off towards it. Meaning he was playing the entire game thinking Life had a base less than he actually had.

Meaning he was playing the entire game thinking Life had a base less than he actually had. I think it should be added, that Life just mechanically outplayed Ryung too. Compare Life's Mutalisks to the majority of Zergs out there. You'll see the Mutas fly in and out, do something, then stay idle for a while as the player pays attention to something else, then they start moving again etc. Life's Mutalisks never stopped moving, and he still spread creep all the way to the center of the map, and he still was on top of his injects, macroing and teching up smoothly. It's because of the incredibly active Mutas and Lings, that he caught all the drops Ryung sent out and killed them before they could do any damage. Meanwhile, Ryung was just sitting in his base.
