Byul and Moon are 2-11 since their little breakouts last season when patchzerg was at full blast. Oz is in America. Alive failed in the Up/Downs and is doing terribly in NASL. Rain is statistically the best player this season for Fnatic.

Yep, they should disband cuz they don't have patchzergs like TSL, :D

Fnatic Zergs are like 3-17 in their last 20 games or something like that. Moon/Byul got some big wins when the queen change happened, but have been on losing streaks since.

ByuL has improved consistently though, while Moon didnt in the slightest. At least ByuL`s strong ZvT could get fnatic their only points in this matchup. (note, that ByuL defeated MKP in some recent tournament which J took home I believe lol)
Without Oz, their KeSPa vs GOM Show Man, I cant see fnatic taking this home, and they would drop out last in this group (which isnt a shame at all looking at those names in here, and Liquid or EG would most likely share the same fate)

I totally agree. This is an absolute must-win for prime. Maru and Byun didn't show the greatest form lately, but so has every Fnatic player! If this goes wrong, everything has to be questioned in the team!

My hatred for Ice Cream cannot be expressed in words.
Anyway, for the match itself, this is one of those matches where it's an upset if Fnatic takes more than 2 maps. Expecting fairly unimpressive play today, but, would love to be proved wrong.

I had thought Terius left Prime and/or even retired. Pretty glad to see him there, I always liked watching his games when they fleshed out the way you could tell he had planned for them to go.

He did leave and he did pretty much vanish off of the face of the earth after losing to scarlett, but appearantly he made his return. Which is good, i kinda liked bumblebee.
Fun fact: J has lost 12 straight games in the GS(T)L. I'm pretty sure that's the worst losing streak in GS(T)L history. His last win was against HongUn 2-1 in November Code A of 2011.
He's won only two series in his career. Once against HongUn...and the other against Creator.
Edit: Byun lost to TOP. Losira beat Supernova in the season 2 Code A finals.

I miss when Code A had a finals, they should just tack a finals on the end of their current Code A format. Maybe like after the ro24, the ro12 and ro6 could be bo1s just to get it over with quickly, and then you'd have 3 players left. I guess do it as a group, top 2 go to the Code A finals? lol idk

Damnnnnnnnnnn Byun played such a good game there. Seeing those lings sneaking by the side at the start of the game just really set the tone. Just 8 hellions sitting there as zerglings run into it :D
Luvsic looks so weak against terran. No harrass and couldn't keep Terran to just 2 bases. Byun prepared for the lategame super early and this might just be the answer to what a lot of turtling Zergs have been doing lately.

Also, can't forget ex-Zenex Cutter, a guy that ripped would certainly add some physical intimidation to the GSTL environment, psychologically potentially sabotaging opposing teams.
Also shit, Man Zenith is teamless? Thought he was still on one, and he did decently enough to get into the inaugural OSL.

Also he might not be comfortable on a map that big - the rushes he's used to might not work and it's harder to defend all these bases (hence the useless mutas?). Also, Byun effectively played perfectly and lost nothing (didn't even sacrifice hellions) while J spent about 15 drones making useless lings earlier on and also went mutas that forced ~5 turrets? All those little advantages just compounded into Byun rolling it.

The mutas were basically useless. There was basically no return in his 600+ gas investment. Then a complete tech switch to infestor ultra on 3 base... Zerg economy isn't supposed to work like that, right?

I was (or am) a big fan of his based on his GhostKing id and when he used to stream cool stuff like mech vs Protoss. I also thought he was the best player of GSL season 3 (over Artosis hype of Symbol). He had such great form and his tank play vs Protoss was so unique.

Brown really should be a must have for any team who wants to make it big in the GSTL, he's essentially enough a get rid of a zerg card if their team's ace is a zerg or there's a zerg on a hot streak you can send out brown for an instant snipe.

Also he's dutch and fnatics team jersey is orange so that just goes together so naturally.
hes still very bad. fnatic wants to compete in GSTL so they need players like Dark and Brown
Harstem is in Europe...the hell are you on about? Why would they boot a (reasonably newly acquired) academy player for such a reason?
fnatic is a top tier organisation, top 1 CS in the world, top 3 LoL in Europe
no further explanation necessary...
Their LoL team has not been Top 3 in Europe for some time. M5, CLG.eu, SK, Curse.eu and arguably Eclypsia, Alternate and Mousesports are better.
Normally byun heads straight to the late game and tearing apart late game zergs by being better than them. Today byun doesn't even need to reach his comfort zone.

just saying they made the wrong pickups
then again I dont care, just saying, they wasted lots of potential building an powerful SC2 team.
Moon's push into the 3rd may have been scary, but Byun's two drops did tons of damage, sniping a 4th and tons of Drones while Moon loses way too many Mutas against Marines.

Blizzard needs to fix the gameplay in HOTS. There's no reason a race is should be strong at certain points of the game and weak at others. It makes for uninspiring play and stagnant games. Most Terran games now become ticking timebomb scenarios where you have to kill P/Z before the lategame or else you lose because your T2/T3 units aren't cost efficient and build too slow to compete with the other races production.

I just wonder, I mean, why couldn't EG do more with PuMa? he was an AMAZING player who got a lot of spotlight because he fucking forced himself on the medal podium every tournament. Even if they get MMA, he's never going to match what PuMa did in 2011.
If they're really planning on paying MMA, I hope that means they've learned from their experiences with JYP and PuMa and have figured out how to market Korean players.
Why are fnatic playing so standard? Take som risks, do some wonky builds, all ins, whatever you need to. The will NEVER win against prime playing standard games like this.
If Rain would have made 2 more ravens instead of 20 Vikings which were mostly useless he could have traded so much better in all the little fights. Instead most of his tanks died to Marauders before the siege animation was finished.

It's so weird when you think about it, but actually EG hasn't really marketed their best performing players very well. :/ Huk was similarly good, and actually does well this year, with a 4th and 3rd place at MLGs. But he just isn't out there, he seems to be totally under the radar and mostly attends MLG without any hype.

JYP used to stream a bit (mainly when he stayed at the liar ages ago) and he was super funny and interacted with his viewers heaps

If they're really planning on paying MMA, I hope that means they've learned from their experiences with JYP and PuMa and have figured out how to market Korean players.

Puma can secure a hair company as a sponsor.
Puma should've marketed his 1-1-1s, making witty comments in interviews to earn himself some nicknames and memes.
I'm just saying, EG had one of the best Koreans you could ever get on their team, and they didn't really market him all that well.
So if they're really going after MMA, a player who probably won't ever achieve as much as PuMa at this point in his career, I wonder what their reasoning/new plan could be.

They're going to have MMA memorize all the sponsors and say them in English during interviews at foreign events and star in a Kingston commercial.

Outside Incontrol/Idra which players have ever been marketed really well based on actually achieving results.

Was he actually one of the best Koreans? From what I remember, even when he was doing well (last year), he was only doing well at International tournaments.. at that time not many koreans went to them. And he always struggled vs better koreans when he met them in tournaments (except maybe Hero)
Now granted, I didn't follow the scene as closely as I do now, so I'm not a credible person.

Yea of course but they don't market them well at all imo, just get them to list sponsors and get more twitter followers. Very few interviews/videos/merchandise.
EG do the best job but still so many areas they could improve.

Byul kinda cripped his 2 rax defensing chances by not scouting into later gas/pool timing. vs 11/11 (which he probably thought it was, he had no information) that's already begun 2 bunkers there's very little you can do from that situation. Like, the bunkers have already begun. He can't really try and get a crawler up and he already hasn't pulled drones. He's just behind.
Khaldor still the biggest fanboy of Maru. I wonder if there ever will be a match of him when Khaldor isn't going "he is so young and already so talented"

the thing with prime is that there's a prime team, and a prime feeder clan. i think terius left prime team proper to chill a bit in the clan (as a practice-from-home practice partner). salmosa might be back to the prime clan?

me too, haha, i've only really ever played customs for fun lol
The last PC game I played with any sort of focus was Half Life 1 deathmatch lol
mine was tactics ogre: the knight of lodis on VBA. best game ever
I sure beat the hell out of that game on GBA. I remember setting a priest to autofight or something in training all night to get it to L50, and also making uberswords out of those sword scrolls!

If he had done one of two things differently he would have won easily. He didn't really struggle against him. The herassment was good, the push was solid, it was just the one moment he lost the game to the most beloved spell in the game. If he had made an Orbital at his 4th afterwards he would have won after that, even after losing all that to Fungal.

If a protoss clumped up all of his HTs during a fight and let them all die to one EMP who's fault is it?
You're comparing apples with oranges - ghost only drain 100 energy - if vikings gets fungaled, it's game over. Also, you can't chain EMPs - if EMPs immobilised units for 4 sec, then the comparison will be valid
As I've mentioned in the Designated Balance Discussion Thread: fungals should not hit air units.
To be fair to Terius, FnaticJ should count as -1 wins and Moon probably counts as 0 so they both took out 1 player but ByuN's net score is 0 so Terius is MVP

Urm my point is clumping up your most valuable units that you need to win should never be forgiveable fungal is silly but that was 100% alive's fault for being stupid and letting it happen.

If fungal doesn't hit air units, Zerg does not beat Terran late game. Or Protoss.

AOE is too strong in this game with the clumping, all races have it (fungal is easier to chain though)

And you would never go Infestors in ZvZ again.

You can run out of Storm, you can't escape Fungal.
You can split units to minimize the effect though. If you don't dodge storm, you die to it. If you don't split against fungal when needed, you die to it. It's the same logic. People don't complain that they have to storm dodge, why do they complain when they need to fungal split (I'm inventing this phrase now).

What alive did is the equivalent of getting nuked while seeing the red dot, it's just unforgivable for a player on this level
I think my eyes were bad or something - according to you, fungals will have green dots all over the map showing where it will land
If fungal doesn't hit air units, Zerg does not beat Terran late game. Or Protoss.
And you would never go Infestors in ZvZ again.
Mutas in zvz would be the most ridiuclous thing, fuck that suggestion
