I think it is fair to distinguish between MULEs early game and late game. I just think MULEs in the late game aren't balanced. Early game MULEs are fine. | ||

Terran and Zerg both have very strong methods of keeping their economy afloat once the game gets going. Protoss is the one with a hard time recovering from lost workers, but their bases also tend to be easier to defend with cannons and warp-ins and all that stuff. | ||

All races have "silly" lategame abilities that seem borderline unfair, but that you just have to deal with as the opponent. No problem there. | ||
