Tries to go for drop play but doesn't cause any damage to Seed's tech structures. Seed focuses on upgrades. After a bad 4 medivac drop gets killed off by a single storm, Seed counter attacks and destroys Polt with his superior upgraded army. Game 2: Polt goes for a banshee/Raven All in. Seed scouts it just as it's moving out, builds a couple of photon cannons that complete in time to hold off the attack.

Game one, after seed didn't do too much damage with a DT opening polt started to get agressive with 2 pronged attacks, the 2nd time he tried seed was able to destroy the 4 medivac drop and seed was able to FF some of polt's army to pick them off, polt lacked the army to stand up to seed's ball and took the win Game two, polt went for his old school timing attack with raven, 2 banshees and stim off 3rax but seed slipped an obs past the raven allowing him to scout it, some cannons, immortals and a load of sentries shut down the attack despite polt's SCV train.

Considering he was on 3 bases + lolmules, it's not even a terrible trade for him, losing stuff during the retreat of his main army for free and generally not controlling the main engagement very well (on top of being behind on upgrades) was much more important than 'throwing away' his drop. Not saying that the drop was very effective or anything there, but it's kind of annoying how people downplay the resources P has to put into defending it. It's like every time with Z 'defending hellion attack well' by losing 40 lings to kill 3-4 hellions - oh well, no damage done, good job by the Zerg! Except Seed would have never moved out had he not cleaned 4 Medivacs without major casualities. It was a terrible trade, because Polt lost the initiative, the “soft contain” he had (i. e. threatening a doomdrop if Protoss moves too far), and on top of that he just died to the following attack since Terran barely has any defender's advantage against Protoss. He would have died even if he had not lost some troops to FFs.

Not that false. If MVP stayed in upper bracket, there were chances he wasnt going to IEM gamescom, or perhaps even reschedule of his matches was possible.

It just felt like Seed reacted perfectly there. It wasnt even close. While the reaction was very good (cannons in particular was a nice addition he could easily afford), he couldve made several errors and still been ok. He still had an immortal, some gateway units and 2 cannons up at the end. He could even pulled and lost 20 probes and been fine. It was just a terrible gamble by Polt that Seed would either have like no sentries or mess up FFs.

Like even if he's not prepared, he somehow is?
