Though I'd argue that the most pragmatic definition of success would be based on earnings.

So if the GSL paid like 5k to the winner and you have a 5x gsl winner but the other guy who wins small tourneys around the world has like 100k vs the 25k gsl winner you would say the gsl winner is the lesser player? What happened to the good old days where success was determined by the winning of a prestigious tournament?

What happened to the good old days where success was determined by the winning of a prestigious tournament? Who said anything about being the lesser player? I made it clear that I'm talking about success a pragmatic sense, not in a prestigious sense. In the end, MVP's and MC's ultimate goal is probably to make as much money as possible, and in that regard, MC is beating him by a relatively small margin, though I agree that if you want to talk about success in the prestigious sense, MVP's superior GSL medal count puts him ahead. And I agree with Dodgin, there's no need to argue over which definition might be the superior one - I'm fine with saying that MC and MVP are both top SC2 players and leaving it at that.

Now the other notable handsome BW player, Bisu has to step it up

The KESPA players are used to playing a game with many magnitudes more of decisions made per minute and with much tighter, more difficult micro being the norm. Thus, when they impose this playstyle on the opponents, said opponents make an uncharacteristic number of mistakes because they are being challenged so much more and more often. It's the same reason people played so poorly against Bisu when he hit the BW scene like a freight train. He was simply doing more things at more varied points on the map which made it much easier for less skilled players to make obvious, exploitable mistakes.

It's also why you see foreigners, no matter how they practice tending to be worse than Koreans. They need to practice being pushed in the manner you outlined there. It's also for this reason that I don't see Kespa players dominating the scene unless they pretty much hide away and only play amongst themselves except for tournaments. If Kespa players play against GOM players on a regular basis, and if they are more mechanically/multitasking focused, the motivated GOM players will become accustomed to this level of play and will improve themselves.

Its sad because OZ was going to be a Protoss powerhouse with Anytime leading the way with Shy and Dear as their rookies. They'll have Jaedong, Hiya, Shy, Dear, and Anytime...too bitter...too bitter...
