Really?
People are entitled to get 1/12th of their money back then. Or 83 cents.
Liquid simply isn't respecting peoples time or money here and in the end it is just bad customer service and bad business to do this to people. It is going to cost Liquid a lot of buys for feature TLS+ tickets.
Well they still get a shot at the raffle, still get the poster and still get the 5% at the store. And the option to watch it on Monday if they can if not to get the Vods.
So I guess prorate goes to somewhere between 0 cents and 42. Poor poor people.
There's noone going at a freakin Theme park anlysing the money they spend versus how many rides there is in the park and go ask for a fucking refund at the end of the day if they didn't have time to do one of the ride.
Internet is so retarded.
Yeah but if so up to a Theme Park on the opening day of a new ride, and pay extra to get in first, and then can't get on the ride because the ride actually isn't open yet, yeah something is wrong. Sure you can come back tomorrow and ride it first, but if you had other plans you are out of luck.
Nice try but wrong analogy, TSL+ isn't about getting something before others, it's just about better quality when it happens.
Sure, it doesn't effect the analogy though. Let me rewrite it for you.
Yeah but if you show up to Disney Land on the opening day of a new ride, and pay extra for the better quality seats on the ride, and then can't get on the ride because the ride actually isn't open yet, yeah something is wrong. Sure you can come back tomorrow and ride it, but if you had other plans you are out of luck if they won't refund you.
There. And nothing about the validity of the argument has changed...
Nope, still wrong. You pay season pass (7 weekends here) for extra seat quality. You go there every weekend, have a nice ride and then you come the fifth time and ride is closed because some accident happened/staff is ill/something broke etc. The manager tells you you can go on Monday instead and if you don't have time, you can still come the next weeks until season ends.
Will you realistically want your money back and never come back because you did expect the ride has exactly 0% failure rate? Anyway, if you're so unforgiving, fine, don't buy again but I don't think it will affect TSL in any way and in few weeks nobody will remember because they'll enjoy the other matches and rest of the league. And next time people will pay too unless the ride is broken every second weekend or so.

I own a business, I would refund people if I ever could not deliver on a promise. In fact when shipments have gone out late for reasons beyond our control, we've given discounts. I expect other businesses to do the same, though I know they don't always. People are used to getting screwed in the world, and everyone thinks "well every company acts like this, nothing I can do." And that just isn't true. Companies act like that because people let them.
Businesses often only act as good as people make them. And at what point does it matter? Maybe you pay $1000 for 100 games in HD, and you only get 99, should get you your 10 bucks back? What about $1000 for 10 games? At what point does it matter? The point is, again, wrong is wrong and right is right. It is about the principal. If the pocket change doesn't matter, then TL should have no problem refunding it.
And yes, I would want a refund for that day if I showed up and the ride was down and I came specifically for that ride. And they would probably give me one, or a voucher for me to come on any day I want, which I would accept. Yes, I am the guy who gets cash at the airport when they bump me off a flight (as is the law), while everyone else takes "vouchers" that are good for one year but subject to ridiculous restrictions.

Bit late to change plans when it's already past midnight.
Personally I haven't bought premium, just stayed home to watch because I didn't want to miss Kas's games. I think disappointed is a good way to describe how I felt when I saw the postponed announcement but it's their league and they can run it how ever they want to. I'll take it as a reminder that I shouldn't stay home based on an assumption that broadcasts like these will happen.
At least the IPL stream appears to be working now.
How do people complain? There were/are two other tournaments on the same day (IPL team league and WCS Oceania finals now!). Props to TeamLiquid for not "interfering".
i wouln't have minded so much if ipl tac production wasn't so horrible. no excuse for 20-30+ minute delay/commercials between games. demuslim's stream was pretty funny for a while, but eventually, i just left. i guess the delay saved ipl, i hope ipl gave TL some money for it.

total lack of hype. early rounds seem to be refused attention across the board.
I dunno if it's the hype (maybe it's the hype getting overshadowed by the saturation of so many other events happening at the same time), but I think a major factor is that TSL4 doesn't have the total star power that previous TSLs had - for instance, if you think of the players in it, there's no DRG, MMA, MVP, MC, MKP, Hero, while foreign heroes (Thorzain, Naniwa, Ret, Huk, Grubby, Whitera) either got knocked out or didn't qualify. Of course, there is merit to the qualifier system, and the people that made it certainly deserved to based on their performances, but I think that system worked better with a smaller or more limited scene/pool - TSL1/TSL2 were fantastic because of the smaller scale of the foreign BW scene, plus the fact that there wasn't much for foreigners to play in besides TSL and WCG. TSL3 came when the SC2 scene was still sorta new, so many of the original beta heroes were in (eg Idra, TLO, White-ra), plus the invite system got all the big names (Fruitdealer, MVP, Nestea, Boxer, etc.).
Now, with the much higher playerbase and the greater saturation of other tournaments and events that therefore from players' focus on TSL4/cause them to miss a number of qualifiers, the system didn't necessarily work out so that the stars filled the slots. Sure, it's great to have some unknown players make their breakthroughs, but many of the players also just happen to be middling players that happened to get lucky/hit hot streaks in the qualifiers.
