I dont get this format. According to TLDB, Satiini has beaten MANA once. Now he has to do it again whit no advantage given. And he had to face forGG, which can be said that is the better player out of johnyrecco, which mana faced.

Why isn't he given any advantage over his opponent? This is the most stupid bracket system im seen so far.

Satiini vs MaNa 3-2
ForGG vs jonnyrecco 3-2

ForGG vs Satiini 3-1 - Winners final, forGG advances
MaNa vs Jonnyrecco 3-0 - jonnyrecco out

MaNa vs Satiini - Losers final, winners advance.

I know the GSL/winners format. But i think its stupid to copy it over to these tournaments aswell.
Basically Mana gets free chance to beat his opponent again...

Well.. its not up to me or us to decide, but i don't see the point of copying the format of overseas.

You do realize how much worse round robin is, right?

I don't, the GSL-groups has the most unfair system for a group stage I can think of.
You need 2 wins, but if you have 1 amazing player, 1 horrible player and 2 mediocre players, one of the mediocre players gets a "free win" while the other gets a "sure loss".
If the mediocre players play 1-1 the one with the free win advances.

I don't see how round of robin is worse than that.

At the highest levels of gameplay, your initial assumption is a logical fallacy. Everybody can beat everybody on any given day; there are no easy wins. Even Suhosin was on the brink of defeating Mvp in group stages just because he chose the right strategies.

The round robin format has multiple instances where it would be advantageous to lose a game, or there is no incentive to win one. In winners' format you always want to win every series.

So you deny the obvious disadvantage the GSL-system has by pretending the opponents skill level doesn't matter. Yeah, I'll take you seriously for sure.
If you're not getting better faster than everybody else, you're getting worse.

He did earlier in the season but I dont think he was in the list of 7 players they are bringing to the live finals. Neither is Mvp. Losira and NesTea will be in attendance though.

Not that I know of, but apparently he would like that. They were joking about it on the 2GD show, how Day9 had the longest and the most awkward hug with Soe at the NASL finals. Soe was hugging random people and Day9 rushed there to get hugged by her and the rest was really awkward.

There's a slight problem in that the first series isn't that meaningful apart from giving you insurance that you don't need to beat that low-skilled player. However, ultimately the outcome of that group is determined by the match between the 2 mediocre players so I'm not sure what the problem is.
