Personally I find the caster bias ridiculous, annoying, and game-ruining. Fanboys are extremely annoying too and they tend to wreck LR threads, which is why I always root for whoever plays vs Stephano.

Emotions are fine I go crazy myself when MC wins, but this whole "Stephano moves a ling -> best player in the world" "Stephano would rip off DRG's limbs in a single move" and stuff is just overboard and annoying.

I agree. I can't understand these people who complain about "bias". I imagine that every time Stephano does something well, they cringe or something like that. It's a game and a cast, just take it for what it is.

No I don't. Stephano's moves are sometimes amazing, I'm able to distinguish that, like I said, he's a really good player. I dislike caster bias because casters aren't supposed to be THAT biased, they ruin the watching experience unless you're a fanboy. While overboard fanboys ruin LRs because of this kind of discussion

Yeah that's how I feel. Nothing against Stephano, but it's annoying listening to the casters act like every move he does is the greatest, most genius thing ever when a lot of the time it's actually pretty basic, and they brush over a lot of his mistakes.

Sometimes it's like the opponents don't get any credit, it's just the Stephano show. Though admittedly they've not been -that- bad here.

Really it's just an outgrowth of Stephano being the only foreigner who can consistently beat Koreans, and a lot of the fanbase simply aren't interested in Koreans, but will cheer anyone who isn't Korean.

well stephano is ridiculously good and wins from situations that no one else does, and him being the only foreigner to be able to consistently defeat koreans obviously warrants praise

The problem lies with: Stephano burrows an ultra "OH MY GOD STEPHANO.. BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD!!".. Stephano lands a fungal "Jesus christ this is so good, DRG is a scrub compared to this" and all such ridiculous things, it's annoying.

But noone actually adds the 'DRG is a scrub'. Isn't that just insecurity speaking?

obviously he's exaggerating....but when you hear them hype actions of Stephano, and then compare to how the casters talk about DRG when he's playing even better, the bias is obvious

Yes, and the bias is towards a foreigner, the perennially handicapped competitor. Western audiences like underdogs.

Well it's all how you play the other part of the game. Seems like Taeja likes getting early gasses right? He also likes killing creep tumors right? Well instead of using a ton a scans to clear them, use mules to get more minerals and use your gas to get a raven! Not like he doesn't have starport with tech lab. He even made banshees early on. Just get a raven, and then you can get a second raven, and a third. And since they take so long, they won't really eat into any of your resources, except your huge gas bank. That's how you do it early enough

You know that upgrades/tanks/medivacs require gas and that you only have 6 gas as T in mid game. And you know what happen to a T who pushes on creep? btw Taeja did so well on that side that he didn't even scan.

Well I don't know what you consider a troll. I am theory crafting, but that's just because I can't pull something like that off myself. You did see that Taeja had 4000 gas at the end of the game right? And even from midgame on he had at least 500 at all times

OK i'll just do a brief summary of what Taeja did:
A quick 3rd CC with hellion/banshee and double ebay aiming at a pre-hive 200/200 with 2/2 timing
In order to push you need to clean the creep, so you might scan. You just cannot push on creep. Ever.

Then you try to max out asap, and you dedicate ALL your infrastructure to build your army asap, so you get 1port with a reactor, 2fac and 6/7raxes. That's the best set up atm, and if you aim to these kind of pushes you cannot afford something else. If Taeja floated some gas it was under 500.

In order to get your sky terran going you need 2/3k gas to begin with and throw down 5/6 ports. The problem here is that Taeja failed his pre-hive push and had to build vikings asap to survive to the blord push. There was no timing to get the infrastructure needed because he had to produce vikings from those starports.

Then Losira switched and since T's production is slow you can't really say, hey, i'm switching into sky terran now, wait 5minutes mate.

I did explain that there are ways to make air units besides putting up 5-6 starports all at once. Your way is just a gimmick tech switch that you hope they don't see coming.

you don't understand how T units synergizes with each other. If you want to go sky terran, you need to turtle and imitate Mvp. If you want ravens you need to delay the blords in order to be able to build both vikings and raven after you successfully pushed the Z before hive tech kicks in. Having 2 ravens or BC won't cut it, you need a good number of ravens to complement a standard comp (6/8 is a good start) or a full air army, not something half assed.

He hasn't, and neither has Stephano, but the hype around Stephano is valid, obviously his gonna get far more hype even if he was a korean who had never qualified for the GSL, because of his foreign success. Than someone like First, whos done very little outside of this MLG.

To be fair TaeJa was pretty godly even before. He scored 2 all kills for slayers and won like 25 series in a row to win like 3 or 4 consecutive korean weekly tournaments. He just happened to find his code s success and get foreign tournament opportunities with liquid. Still a fucking amazing pickup though. Kid has skills

It is refreshing to have not seen Fungal growth the whole game, just the sounds and kills of Banelings was so much more satisfying than a "Bloop" and watching Bio die.

No one really knows since this is the first time his games are being streamed, against terran anyway, not sure if his game against Sortof was streamed yesterday.
