Which is a more impressive result guys? Thorzain's Dreamhack win or Mana's?

If he goes to Korea, will they give him a Code S seed now that he won DH Summer?

Mana showed amazing perfomance. For me he's one of the best foreigners right now. Beating Stephano, Hero(he lost only to Mana ?), Dimaga etc. Although he really suffer from not being big star for newbies and thats why we see some comments about poor finals.
Comments about allin 2 base is just silly. Im not sure if u play Starcraft 2 at all. The game right now is really badly balanced push players for early attacks. Dimaga btw not scouted at all whats happening. He played almost the same build with one game when he cutoff drone production. You cant play macro games with zerg without early hard attacks. MC played every GSL game that way and he's hero on teamliquid.net.

They seem to be short on people to invite anyhow, there's 10 invites a year and there aren't 10 'legit' events a year won by non-koreans. Fairly certain that if Mana were to have his team ask gom he'd have an invite coming his way.

Mana is a beast, fully deserved his win. He beat some top class players over the three days. I wish he would travel to MLG or Korea; the guy has been the best European Protoss for some time.

Btw, he is happy with his playstyle... Oh who I see... another Korean's cock sucker. That seems pretty uncalled for. It's just as legitimate to prefer Korean players as it is to prefer EU players.
I don't understand why people rage over Mana's playstyle at this tourney. If you ever watched his games he has always preferred a macro style. But the thing is, it really doesnt work in a big tournaments like this one. You must abuse 2 base timing in PvZ if you want to wina aganist top notch zerg player because otherwise you will probably loose in lategame. It no secret that in PvZ toss i strong early mid game and is weaker the longer games go on, so please stop whining about it.
And about PvP vs Hero. Hero made a big blunder at the ramp that cost him the game plus Mana sniped obs really well, thats all there is to it.

Why would anyone be mad that's nothing but a good thing!
If more European players can compete with good Korean players it will make for more interesting weekend tournaments.

Dunno why they're so furious. 3 olympic swimmers drowned in this kiddie pool.

Yeah, you have a good point there... just keep in mind that the toss also has some really cool abilities and strats that are in fact fun to watch. I would list: - blink stalker micro - warp prism micro / harass - storm / feedback and storm drops with HT - all kinds of hallucination play - phoenix micro So there you have it. Kick the boring stuff out and bring more fun stuff in and the game will become better from a spectator's perspective.
Yeah, that's the important thing. If the game devolves into the same strat being used all tournament long by multiple players - which it has done already in the past - then SC 2 as an e-sport will suffer. That's all I meant by the boring to watch comment.
Personally I don't mind. I even enjoyed the Nestea/Inca finals, just because it was funny watching Inca charge headfirst into a wall at full speed over and over again. But I'd rather we had more MMA/DRG in our finals. Dynamism, excitement, and stuff exploding is what we need.

There are two ways how to win tournaments - either you are so good that you brute force your way through your opponents just with your playstyle (but only DRG, MKP and very few others can do this) or you play like Mana did - you prepare and you play to your opponents weakness (Nestea, MMA and MVP are all doing that)... I think he deserves respect.
btw, problem with protoss imo is, that they have the potential to create the most epic and best games of all races (Ace vs B4 in up and downs comes to mind, or Hero vs Idra in DH Valencia for example) and everyone is dissapointed that not every game is like that...
Im so happy that someone noticed this. I wrote similar post and got note about "Polish fanboy". Bunch of kids support some famous names in SC2 and because of that they are really blind. There are only little group of players who can cheese, play 2base attacks and their fans write about "unique playstyle". They dont realize that even Boxer scv rushed Yellow in one of the finals sc bw tourney 3 times in a row.

In any community there will always be a few "rotten apples". Just don't give them the attention they want and carry on. Anyone with half a brain knows that progamers play to win, no matter how.

It goes waaaay beyond that. The amount of double-edge swords and other bullshit is astounding.

He's not the first one to notice it bud. Lots of us have been saying time and time again when it comes to discussions about the different games and other biases people have. Eventually you just ignore most of the bullshit because you know it's just that. Bullshit.

I'm super happy for Mana while at the same time sad for Dimaga, both of them should come out of this event with a lot of confidence though. I'm sad we didn't get to see any super lategame play from Mana though, I love when he has like 23 gateways, loses an army doing something ballsy and just warps in to continue being a boss. He didn't show it as much this tournament but I always thought of him as a macro toss.
*sigh* Predicting how anyone might do in code S is hard as fuck, Mana could make a splash or he could get studied and picked to death. Nothing about a single code s appearance says anything about a player's strength overall, the same as goes for one tournament win. It's consistency against the general competition that makes a high caliber player shine no matter where they complete. Time has taught us Mana is a very good player, he usually performs well against all sorts of players and used to be one of the few toss with a positive record vs puma during the 1/1/1 days.
With regards to boring plays. Some cheese is just boring. Two rax is usually neat becuase you can see nice stutter step micro, banelings busts are neat since follow up banes vs workers/ units is a fun microfest. Protoss has this unfortunate thing where their units are better clumped up so we don't see as much fancy micro from their all- ins/ early pushes unless it's a blink stalker all in or stargate play. Two base immortal sentry heavy pushes are just idk bland? ... clutch forcfields ( which mana totally has) are neat but the overall look of the attack is boring. Every race has some boring cheeses/ pressure builds/ timing attacks though we just didn't see as many of them today.
I don't agree with judging a player based on the strategy they chose, though I can see why sometimes people find certain strats less entertaining. I think people need to realize that as much of a spectactor sport as this is players will still always choose the strategy that has the best chance of assuring them a win. Terrans didn't used to 1/1/1 because they thought people liked it, they did it becuase it was the best way to assure a win in TvP.

Is Dreamhack releasing replays from this event? They used to do packs but stopped. Is that a permanent halt? I'd be very sad if it was.
