It's nothing short of amazing how fast Violet has grown from teamless player to one of the best now beating Leenock, Polt, Oz and symbol to name a few.
- One does not simply walk into a bar and start calling the shots.
- Failure doesn't mean you are a failure it just means you haven't succeeded yet.

I think viOlet is one of the real talents to have emerged from the SC2 scene. Big gratz on the win!

I was happy that Violet advanced so far. Him winning just makes me ridiculously happy. He deserved this, he always has been great, just never seemed to go far as I thought he would. I hope he builds off this and becomes the top Z in the world. He was already my third favorite player before this weekend.

Just read the headline about Violet winning a major tournament...
Was this really a major tournament? Yes, the line-up was really good and all, but in my opinion the fans and the hype surrounding an event are also a big part of what turns a normal tournamet into a major event. The LR-Thread of the final day doesn't even have 100 pages and I think I'm not the only one that couldn't care less for a PPV event like this one.

Gratz to Violet though.

the only reason it has less hype is cause of PPV. but this has to qualify as a major tournament. the line up is what determines that, not hype or fan attendance.

lol so how many majors do we have then? kinda defeats the purpose of calling it a major when there are 20 majors throughout the year.

well more and more tournaments are getting stacked line ups. this event was more difficult to win than the last DreamHack. I don't see how we can't call it a major tournament

I would for sure define it as a major event.. not sure on the format they used in beginning..but the games still had to be played and the pressure was just as intense.

With that being said.. .

CSN Training Camp produces NA Based International Champion....

that should be the headline!

And Liquipedia says somthing completly different.
Anyway, that tournament was stacked and Violet won it, no matter how you classify it. Congratulations to him, now with an IEM and MLG win this year, impressive.

It also says that MLG Spring Arena 1 was major. And last time I checked, 32 > 8. In addition, there was still A LOT of sick players here too.

I lost a ton of hype when I heard the top three was all zerg (and I play zerg) so I didn't watch the finals, I gave it a shot but both of the Stephano ZvZs was the typical style I hate, that is constant aggression from one side until one person dies. I lost even more interest since IMO Symbol and Violet both deserve a major title. Congratz to Violet, he's one of my favorite Zerg players to watch but such a boring closure to an otherwise superhype tournament.

That's because Liquipedia has this as a Premier Tournament instead of a "major tournament".

If a MLG win doesn't qualify as a major win then what does?

Good job violet but winners bracket advantage still makes the finals feel silly.

There has to be a better way

well he outplayed his opponent pretty hard so not the end of the world in this case, but extended series does need to take a hike.
