Well it's the third time they've done it and they don't seem to have had an issue thus far. I'm sure as hell not paying for it this time though.
If it was 10$ I would have considered it for a minute at least. But for 20$ I would never pay for it, even if Jaedong and Flash were there competing. If I was to give 20$ to a weekend event I would give it to something like Homestory cup, that is the only only that deserves it.
mlg didn't want to sell passes a la carte. they want people to buy season passs which are $30 for 3 events. you could have gotten it for $10 if you thought ahead

He didn't win against Rain by Warpgate all-ining though. He won one game with a 4gate vs a blue flame hellion drop, in the other ones he was doing weird stuff and winning anyway.

if this event was $10 i guarantee that the buys would more the double which would just make it better for everyone. MLG would get near enough the same amount of income anyway if not more and more people would be watching there for making better for the sponsors.

It's really irritating that they do the PPV event much more often than the actual MLG events now. :/ I know they have to make money, but I thought that only the first arena was going to be PPV to "test" it, but I guess people will pay each time so why not make all PPV.

How is this even possible for a pro player? That is such a large amount of resources tied up in a queue. There is no doubt Goody is still a good player, but it seems that he should really be on top of that kind of stuff.

He doesn't have many appearances in big tournaments tho, TSL3, WCG and what else? He usually plays only smaller online cups in Europe, so I'm not too surprised that he is not well known.
I really can't believe they don't offer a low quality stream either for free or for less than half the price (like $5). I have a bad internet connection and I would only be watching a few games at low quality and theres no way I'm paying $20 for that. I think if they offered more price bundles they were earn more money. Having a pay wall is annoying and it brings the viewer count wayy down.

i think they are testing the waters atm, last arena was 10$ this time is $20, next time maybe they will try $5, maybe they will decide that 10 or 20 is best for them.

It has been delayed by 20 seconds. Although looking at the games vs MC back then, an extra 20 secs wouldn't have given them a much better chance anyway...

Any idea how much it costs to fly in 32 players and pay for their hotels? The smaller tournaments you mention do none of that and that's exactly why you see so many more high caliber players here, there's no financial investment for the team or player to go.
Lol? ESL/IEM pays for their trips, and their streams is either full quality free or medium quality free, so I don`t really get your point. Mostly of the tournaments do pay for their trips. And I`m not only talking about smaller tournaments, I`m talking about the big ones like DH, IEM, IPL, GSL.. they mostly like are free to watch and even give higher amount of money to the winner..
IEM doesn't pay for trips. They provide a travel stipend, but that is not enough to cover the cost of a flight. It's why startale sound couldn't go to IEM even though he qualified from the last home story cup because startale couldn't afford to send him. I don't think DH pays for trips either.

he is always at the homestory cup, and he is just one of those really well known players, because of his style, i guess people who arent really sc2 fans and watch the occasional gsl/mlg might not, but anyone who calls themself a sc2 fan will know goody well
