Hello everyone! IGN Pro League is thrilled to announce our newest tournament! The Ye Olde Map Tournament features some of the most amazing maps ever created by Blizzard and has a lineup of some of the best players in all of North America! This tournament is meant to be a fun throwback to the early days of StarCraft II and may serve as a way for us to see how far the strategy and skill have progressed since the first time players set foot on Scrap Station or Kulas Ravine. If you're a fan of nostalgia, not-so-balanced maps, and some fun StarCraft games, you better not miss this! Oh, and these games will be played LIVE for your entertainment. =)
We are starting off with two Ro16 matches for the IGN Pro League Ye Olde Map Tournament
When: Thursday, Apr 19 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Thursday, Apr 19 4:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
Format
This single-elimination tournament features 16 players from the North America server and is a best of 5 format. This match is being played for the round of 16. The winning player will move on to the Quarter-finals and the loser will be eliminated entirely! Keep in mind that each round increases the prize money!

Really fun idea for a tournament, thanks for doing this!

Would someone for the love of all things holy sign SLush to a team already?

How to determine the results? Vote against the zergs.

No, it's okay. Slush knows how to make roaches.

Miles may have been an understatement in the case of the matches he played last night.
Oh man, it'll be fun to see qxc's strategies on these maps. And one of those two Zergs had better do a twelve drone rush on Steppes!
Looking forward to this. Yesterdays matches were so much fun to watch, brings back memorys of me 3 raxing on pretty much all of these maps.
Wicked tournament, excited for tonight!!!

i hope to see one of the players choose desert oasis. was always my favourite "hated map". reapers were so good on that map (before multinerfs). can't wait to watch tonight!! casting is excellent imho.

Wasn't that the map that everyone was saying "One day people will figure out this map but their just not good enough yet"? I remember Artosis talking about in the very early days of the GSL, saying it was like BW maps in it's complexity and that one day pros would figure out when to take out the rocks in middle.

Wow, polls really close. Looking forward to this!

Terrible A/V sync?
Edit: Video is like 2 seconds behind the sound.
And Machine lost the first map with a failed 7 pool all-in into roach all in vs a 2 gate forge expand by State.
Seriously, what is going on with the desync? Is it on Twitch's end?
I want to see Desert Oasis.

We're aware of the sound desync and will be restarting the stream momentarily. We're working with some new tech and we hope to get everything resolved soon!

These games are HILARIOUS. State showing machine why playing today's "standard" is not a very good idea on these maps.
My favourite thing to do on scrap was to take down the rocks to my opponent's 4th and stealing that one, almost never scouted. :D Also burrowing banes on their side of the middle rocks vT. Ahhhhh old days. God I hated scrap though, 35% win rate as a Z D:
Poor Slush never had a chance
LOL, that was great. Still wish Slush would have played that out.
Ugh, rough times for Z's tonight.
That was the weirdest strat by slush ever...
Some really awesome games yesterday, but today's not quite up to that standard, though we had some really awesome matchups yesterday, too.
"He's coming really hard and he's coming really fast" Doa's best line ever methinks.
This game is awesome. What an absolutely ridiculous map.
Doa: "when's the last time you saw an island in sc2?"
um... sanshorn mists?
derp

Oh qxc, I knew you would be entertaining.
Rats, I wanted to see Brood Lords siege the island expansion. It's like a mission straight out of campaign
YES! Steppes of war!
Best worst map ever. I "predict" a fast game!
"And he DOES pick Steppes of War!" This is both so retarded and hilarious at the same time^^
Slush goes hatch first.
That's probably the ballsiest move I've ever seen.
why slush dont use 2-2 ling /bling? he would crush qxc
Omg, this nat siege makes me angry even now lol, this is such a great tourney, thanks against for this IGN!
Steppes of War: Where a player can turtle and contain at the same time :p

That game was so painful to watch. I would've felt so guilty playing against Zergs on that map.

You are joking, right? The zerg took 3 different expansions (and attempted to take o fourth too). Also he had qxc on the ropes after the baneling bust... that Steppes of Wars game was so cool and intensive, wow!
