By allowing players, particularly players that have not previously gone through the qualifiers, to skip most of that process not only weakens the prestige of the tournament but also the results of the seeded players. Naniwa has won four games and is in the round of 8, compare that to the players that go through the qualifiers and Code A. They have to play and win a lot more matches and it is these achievements that make winning a GSL so special. Maybe you would feel fine about winning a title that way and maybe Naniwa would too but if he did then dropped off the map in GSL forever do you think anyone, even Naniwa himself, would not think that his win was based upon him being fortunate enough to receive a seed allowing him into Code S? Well look at fOrGG path. Crushing code B & A and then what ?.. Maybe you are wrong.. No, YOU ARE WRONG !

In other words: GOM got fuckin lucky that they picked the right guy and should avoid stuff like these seeds into Code S in the future. I am okay with Code A seeds though. I actually was thinking... what about GOM organizing a "foreigner qualifier tournament" with one or two seeds for code A as the prize? at least this would end the "he not deserved it" feeling , and we would have some kind of qualifier for the foreigners to get there so GOM would have their "foreigner spots" filled. im so happy that Naniwa make it through ,but i also dont agree with code S seeds , im ok with code A. If he actually gets the GSL... that would be HUGE even with the seeding.

Actually the MLG seeds are being taken by koreans also xD i was thinking of a "foreigner-only" tournament with no prize pool other than the seed , akin to code B in that manner.

That was BAD, at least Nani has some results, all Idra has to show for his career is he has a lot of people watching his stream.. It's so sick how people can ignore everything a player has acomplished when he doesn't play good for a couple of months

I for one oppose this. Just because you are a foreigner, you shouldn't be entitled with more possibilities due to unfair ``restrictions``. It is pretty much the samething as womens only turnament, unfair. However on subject, great games some where dull but overall really good games.

This is kinda like arguing that winning back to back OSLs isn't a legitimate achievement because winning an OSL puts you into a great seeded position into the next one, or that the only legitimate way to win a double elimination tournament is by losing in the first round so you can fight your way through a billion games in the loser's bracket. The reason winning tournaments is hard is because you have to beat the people who are winning in that tournament. The number of weaker players/players not on form that you stomp over on the way there doesn't magically make your victories less significant.

He has never won an MLG with koreans in it or even get to the finals, he completely wasted his seed for code S by getting pwnd and then getting pwnd to code A, what a waste to invite that guy. He had ONE good showing at one mlg where he beat bomber but that's not enough to hype him to the levels he gets hyped.

You forget he WAS code S before he left Korea, finished in Ro8. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_Sony_Ericsson_Global_StarCraft_II_League_January/Code_S He's also finished top 8 at 6 MLG's. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/IdrA/Results Sure, he struggles now, but everyone goes through funks.
