To be honest I wasn't a Naniwa fan when the Code S rounds started but now I think I'm gonna root for Nani to at least get into Ro4.

Real constructive comment to a genuine problem with giving Seeds into GSL, especially for players like Naniwa and Huk that have never qualified. Because of this, compared to MC, MMA or DRG who received seeds after they had already qualified in previous seasons, there will always be the taint of illegitimacy to their results and the feeling that they were unearned. Any argument that performing well proves that they were earned seeds goes against logic, if they were good enough in the first place then they would not need seeds to qualify. I too hope that Naniwa does not win this GSL because if a foreigner is going to win it should not be because of GOM's charity but because they qualified, worked their way up through Code A and then finally won. Take oGsTheStc as an example, if he wins this GSL it will mean so much more because he fought his way through all the stages of GSL finally to make it to Code S and win, his excitement at making it through the up and downs clearly shows how much more meaningful results are when you know that you achieved them yourself.

Winning GSL is only an achievement because of how hard it is to qualify and work your way through Code A to even give yourself a shot at winning Code S. By allowing players, particularly players that have not previously gone through the qualifiers, to skip most of that process not only weakens the prestige of the tournament but also the results of the seeded players. Naniwa has won four games and is in the round of 8, compare that to the players that go through the qualifiers and Code A. They have to play and win a lot more matches and it is these achievements that make winning a GSL so special. Maybe you would feel fine about winning a title that way and maybe Naniwa would too but if he did then dropped off the map in GSL forever do you think anyone, even Naniwa himself, would not think that his win was based upon him being fortunate enough to receive a seed allowing him into Code S?

at least this would end the "he not deserved it" feeling , and we would have some kind of qualifier for the foreigners to get there so GOM would have their "foreigner spots" filled.

im so happy that Naniwa make it through ,but i also dont agree with code S seeds , im ok with code A.

If he actually gets the GSL... that would be HUGE even with the seeding.

Actually the MLG seeds are being taken by koreans also xD

i was thinking of a "foreigner-only" tournament with no prize pool other than the seed , akin to code B in that manner.

I for one oppose this. Just because you are a foreigner, you shouldn't be entitled with more possibilities due to unfair ``restrictions``. It is pretty much the samething as womens only turnament, unfair.

However on subject, great games some where dull but overall really good games.

This is kinda like arguing that winning back to back OSLs isn't a legitimate achievement because winning an OSL puts you into a great seeded position into the next one, or that the only legitimate way to win a double elimination tournament is by losing in the first round so you can fight your way through a billion games in the loser's bracket.

The reason winning tournaments is hard is because you have to beat the people who are winning in that tournament. The number of weaker players/players not on form that you stomp over on the way there doesn't magically make your victories less significant.

A couple of months? what? he has never won anything that was worth winning, he won that IEM vs Puma and that's it. He has never won an MLG with koreans in it or even get to the finals, he completely wasted his seed for code S by getting pwnd and then getting pwnd to code A, what a waste to invite that guy. He had ONE good showing at one mlg where he beat bomber but that's not enough to hype him to the levels he gets hyped.

You forget he WAS code S before he left Korea, finished in Ro8.
