garbage? Dude just had an amazing hold.
He hasn't been tested yet at all. Just because he holds can hold an roach-ling all in doesn't mean he's Code S caliber at all.
Unfortunately Up and Down matches force people to play funky to win 1v1.
I would say Lucky wins that game 9 times out of 10 if he plays standard.
the guy was in Code S for months and just took third at MLG Winter Arena, a stacked tournament. Its ridiculous the amount of hate this guy gets.
In a Code S format that was NOTORIOUS for keeping in undeserving people. Funny how as soon as it was changed he dropped out....
And LOL. MLG Winter Arena. He had the easiest run of anyone with his best match up played several times.
I mean come on, Minigun?
I'm not saying he's the worst player ever. But he isn't Top 2 in this group.
Even in that format he still advanced far enough to avoid up and down matches. He dropped down because he took a long break before this last GSL season.
He beat Ret who has amazing ZvP and took out Oz, who may have the best PvP in the world. Easiest run in MLG Winter Arena wasn't easy at all.
Just because it wasn't easy, doesnt mean it wasnt the easiest.
Unless you'd rather face Nestea, Leenock and DRG like Naniwa had to instead of Ret.
Huk would have faced MVP if Ret didn't knock him down.
MVP no longer has wrists. Your argument is invalid.
what do you mean by "no longer has wrists" ??? did he get them cut off????
He mentioned that he's had problems with his wrists since RO16 GSL Code S 2012, and again during his last Code A match. From what I gather from the people around here he's suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
HuK is the only foreigner that can even win SOME games with a semblance of consistency against Code S level Koreans. You just have to acknowledge that guys.
Then, he goes DTs for some reason, and it fails badly each time.

Right here. Dude is still in great position to advance.
So is Killer, so is The Pretender.
Except one has a sweet theme song and one is a straight up pimp.
I know who I want.
but huk has gotten his two most difficult opponents done with, ForGG and Lucky, while Killer still has to play Lucky and I would put Huk as the favorite in PvP against Killer. ForGG is in a pretty good spot as he should beat Virus and Brown.
On March 15 2012 21:00 MVega wrote: How is 75 FPS a problem? Hah.
cuz the game gets rather choppy then which makes it harder/less accurate to micro, which is one of huks strenghts, which makes him not be able to get everything out of himself while theres a code s seed on the line...
Choppy? My monitor doesn't even refresh that fast -.-
The human eye can't see anything faster than 30 FPS. That is the reason most TV's don't refresh with more than 21 FPS. Or atleast did before LCD displays became normal.
the real problem is not a low FPS number, but changing FPS numbers. If the FPS is not steady it can look choopy even though the fps is so high. So if the FPS changes from 100 to 75 back to 100 the game will feel choopy and many people will say that is lag. In reality if you set your computer to a max FPS of say 70 you wont feel it. But then your computer might have FPS between 60 and 70 which will feel the same...
Please, when you don't know what you are talking about, do not talk about it.
As a kid, I also believed the human eye only sees at 30 FPS. Now sure how this myth got started, but it's not uncommon, or that people even see in FPS.
I'm convinced it's some kind of troll meme. Every time someone mentions having 30+ FPS in a game, someone always chimes in about how the human eye can or can't do this or that.

This is the most stacked Code S we've ever had, I'm hoping Huk loses his next 2 games. He simply doesn't belong. His pvt is one of the worst foreign pvts I've seen. He literally dt cheeses every game.
People like you in this LR make me wonder about the intelligence of the human race. If HuK wins either of the next two games, surely he has proven that he is Code S worthy? In reality, it doesn't matter what he does, people continuously find fault. These people are known as haters. You are a hater, sir, and nothing more. Therefore, your opinion is invalid.
Huk was given a welfare spot into these Up and Downs. He'd have already failed in the Code A qualifications with the rest of the foreigners if he wasn't given this spot...
He wins a pvp played awfully by both sides, holds off a poorly executed cheese, then does a poorly executed cheese. He hasn't proven anything.

yeah i really dont like his DT play in PvT, but he seems to love it.

Unfortunately you are the one that is incorrect sir. Just because Huk MIGHT win these next few games DOES NOT mean he is Code S class. The level of play shown is not up to scratch with the current Code S players and he would be rolled in the first round. This is why I don't wish to see him there, I'd prefer good games than just seeing a foreigner if I could help it.
Focus less on results, more on his gameplay.
You mean like how GuMiho showed Code A-worthy play in his Ro32 group then proceeded to stomp Ro16-Ro4? or how Bomber managed to go 4-0, then proceeded to get rolled over in Code S?

... 1 game where huk did an all in and failed. you cant say forgg is better than huk after that game
Well Huk made the choice to take a big risk and it didn't payoff at all. Nevertheless forgg's defense was very good while Huk's decision making with his dts wasn't perfect. So, I don't see your point that we can't say that forgg clearly was the better player this time. If you are confident to beat a player straight up you don't take a risk like that.
Fin is in a pretty good situtation now. Killer, Huk and Fin are at 2-1, but Fin won against Killer and Huk, so if theres a tie later on, he will advance. He just has to win one more I think.

I'm failing to see where results aren't the result of gameplay, unless you're suggesting that a winning gameplay isn't the major factor in results? In which case, why do you bother watching.
On March 15 2012 21:08 windzor wrote: The human eye can't see anything faster than 30 FPS.
I subtly suggest that You verify your knowledge Good Sir.
Its worse than that. Having low framerates means there is input lag also since most games (I can't be sure about SC) process input and update things between frames. That means that if you have 30 frames, you are only seeing your input updating at 30 Hz. Might not seem a lot but coupled with the network latency that SC naturally has this kills how your actions feel. You lose your feeling of connection and at really high level I am sure thats a problem
Another problem that is that at low FPS you also get micro spikes and valleys in the fps. So you get inconsistent response to your input. So there is an additional level of jitter in your flow.
I have seen some papers that talk about perceptive input latency due to the input rate and the display rate not matching or not being integral multiples.
So when people say "30 fps" is enough, they mean in cases where there is no other source of latency (say network and that there is no input). In my own experience with Skyrim on a 2x 6970 AMD, the game really plays amazingly better (except the z bug).. I also use the Naga and that at 1000Hz. That gives me a lot of connection to the game.
Infact MSFT just posted this really nice video about touchscreen latency. Its only at 1ms (1000 Hz) where input feels natural. (10 ms - 100Hz isn't bad either).

Naniwa has proven himself much more tbh.
His run at winter arena was more impressive than anything in Huk's career. He also beat MvP at Blizzcon, someone who Huk has been crushed by everytime they've faced.

GuMiho appeared sloppy, and I admit I despised him for it (still do), but this was only his stylistic choice. Huk's mistake was even stylistically sloppy. It was just bad play. He wasn't all over the map like Gumiho in a long macro game, he just butchered a DT rush.
The fact that you used Bomber as an example just proves my point. We KNOW Bomber is an awesome player and he still gets rolled. What does that mean for Huk? Have you seen the roster for Code S? My god.
