As much as I hate Stephano's attitude, I have to respect his play. He's like idra except he actually gets results.

What about his attitude is like IdrA's? They are completely different in every way...

Both are pretty cocky. In different ways though.

IdrA is cocky in the way that people buy a Hummer.
Stephano is cocky because he has confidence.

Both can be very arrogant, but IdrA's arrogance, even when he was winning, comes off as a veneer. He has a I'm better than the rest of these kids attitude but his play doesn't show it - not only does he lose games he shouldn't, he quits at the first sign of disadvantage and that's not what an arrogant player does if they really believed that they're better.

Stephano, on the other hand, plays like he talks. If he thinks you're worse he'll say it and prove it, and after gaining an advantage will start to troll. I think Stephano understands his own abilities better than IdrA does, and that's why his arrogance comes off as a sort of confidence rather than as a joke.

So yeah, it's like that.

Yep, shitting on players gets people ousted by the SC2 community, like that one guy who won the Super Tournament... What was his name again?

Didn't MMA win that one? Or MKP? I can't seem to remember.

You might be thinking of the Blizzard Cup or the GSL World Championship. Polt won the Super Tournament 4-0 against MMA.

Nah, both Naniwa and Thorzain are consistently good. Steph may be better than both of them, though.

Has Naniwa won a match in GSL?

I THINK he did eventually break his legendary GSL losing streak. Or is that my memory playing up on me?

All you can say is that Stephano hasn't played there. Blizzard Cup isn't quite the same thing (though he did do best of the foreigners attending). Naniwa beat MVP and Nestea (twice) at MLG after all, but unless he can do the same in the GSL it isn't going to mean as much because foreign tourneys simply don't mean what GSL does (because it's way, way harder to win).

Your memory, his only win was a PvP in the GSTL, in the individual tournaments he's winless..

Oh.

Well, he still always looks like a boss in foreign tourneys.
I'm not bad at Starcraft; I just think winning's rude.

it's pretty weird, EG maybe jumped the gun with signing him

Don't be silly, he has done good for himself overall. Some top finishes at MLG, Finalist of Dreamhack Winter 2011, and winner of NASL S2. He went deep in this tournament and lost to a good opponent, nothing to be ashamed of. Jesus, some of you people are so quick to pull out the pitchforks.

PuMa is a player who's hated by a lot of people on this forum, he's obviously achieved a ton and his one of the highest money earners in sc2 history, and has continued to rake in the prize money since joining EG.

I'll assume that you're trolling and not know what a bonjwa is.

A lot of times the people who put Stephano on a pedastal like that aren't really Stephano fans; they're just doing that to get people like you to dislike Stephano fans.

I don't think you understand. He really is, arguably, the best Zerg in the world.

yeah better than drg suuuuuuure

He beat DRG in a best of one. He is better than him.. duh... >.< *flawless logic*

Could someone point me to a video that shows why Flash is such a god to some people here? Didn't follow BW.

Flash is the best of the 5 bonjwas.
Flash holds the longest winning streak for both TvT (22 wins) and TvP (13 wins) in so called “regular games”.Flash is the most successful player in the history of progaming in terms of qualification.
After his 2010 achievements, Flash was nicknamed God Young-Ho by Korean fans.
According to TLPD Flash is currently the only player with a winrate greater than 70% in all of his matchups.
Now he is 14:0 in PL.

For someone who followed SC2 and not BW the easiest comparison to make is with MVP last year, only multiplied 10fold. For the last couple of years, Flash has almost always been favoured to win the entire tournament, no matter who he's playing.

(also, funnily enough, one of MVP's claims to fame in BW was that he once took a game off flash, among other things. Yeah. Flash is so good that taking a game off of him can actually be considered a claim to fame :p)

He's had pretty much the easiest group/bracket possible here (until Stephano).

Anyway, Puma was Code S material (or getting there) while he was on TSL. The results he's posting now just demonstrate a natural decline when the player is no longer in a 100% Korean training environment constantly.

They are 4-4 in 2012 and he 3-1'd Polt at the Eizo cup 1 month ago, I'm not sure about his definition of "usually" :|

well that sounds promising, can't recall the exact words he said now but he definitely respected polt

in an earlier (~3 hours ago) interview with 2GD Stephano wasn't talking about official games, but rather practice games with Polt while Stephano was in Korea. Stephano had difficulties to beat Polt back then and is afraid to find difficulties again.

I honestly believe that DRG and Stephano are BY FAR the best 2 zergs on the planet. DRG being SLIGHTLY ahead of Stephano of course.
