Yes that was a big problem too. Polt was always caught with his pants down with 0 vikings once broods came out. MVP always has starsense and starts building vikings before broods are out.

more balance whine than in a BNet forum...
Everytime a non-terran player wins a tournament we see this same level of butthurtness from the terran whiners. It's getting pretty sickening to be honest.
So true, its like they think only terrans should win
You understand a foreign Terran hasn't won a major live event in 1.5 years right?
That is because the foreign terrans are not at the same lvl as Zerg foreigners or toss foreigners.
Maybe, just maybe Terran is just too difficult to play relative to the other two races? Said as a Protoss player, and I DO see the potential of Terran in the hands of top, top Koreans, but recently even among them the race's lategame looks pretty damn tough to play to the equivalent level of the other two races.

You know I see all sorts of shit in LR threads, but I can see where your coming from on this one with my background but to say Polt played bad today? I cannot agree with that. The games were incredibly entertaining and I understand why you would be upset with the results being a Polt fan.
I will leave it at this, Polt was unable to adapt. Those games could have gone either way.
No, Polt was playing well but he wasn't playing at his maximum even if only slightly off. There's a reason Stephano has consistently said he's afraid of Polt even after first beating him.

because the people who speak fluent english dont win any awards.........
You also have to remember that these tournaments are run by computer geeks and nerds, so any social interaction is by definition going to be awkward.
And the sterotype emerges yet again... Not all computer nerds have a lack of a social life. Its really pathetic that this stereotype is still around in our own community....
It's perpetuated by the most vocal parts of the community. What do you expect?
I want them to realize that it is a very untrue stereotype for the most part nowadays....

Makes me question whether Polt really deserves that Code S seed, though. Well, we'll see.
Sorry, but what a stupid comment.
Both are great players. It was a great series. Stephano played better this series, but they're both S class players, in my mind.
It's a valid comment. Polt was code B and got a code s seed. He certainly didn't display code s level play today. He played quite disappointing today. Can't count how many free tanks polt gave away each game or how many times he blew away leads.
So does MVP not deserve Code S because he played awful yesterday against Seal?
Code S players lose all the time. Stephano scouted Polt and played perfectly against him. I mean, who else would you give the Code S seed to?
Dont respond to these people Fionn they just hating. Im 100% convinced Polt gonna go to atleast ro8 next GSL

And here we go. Time to bring out the reasons why the foreigner won. Stephano is a beast, don't start with the "polt wasn't playing his best" crap.

It's not a valid comment so say a player isn't Code S quality from a single series. Especially against someone like Stephano.
you also have to take into consideration that polt is seriously jetlagged by 20 hours while stephano spent a full week in texas.
It's not even jetlag. Stephano played great. All seven games between them were insanely close. It's silly to take one series and go, 'Wow, he doesn't deserve the seed because he lost to a great player.' By those standards, we should kick MVP out of the GSL for losing to Demuslim or Nestea losing to Ret.
how can you simply discount jetlag that easily? polt clearly underperformed from his potential considering the beatdown he has put on stephano in recent events.
Hasn't Polt been there for a couple days? So wouldn't he be performing ok?
Jetlag is only an excuse for people to convince themself that their favorite didn't lose the game. This sort of jetlag will last weeks.
the possibility that stephano has studied polt's play and improved his own is apparently actually an unpossibility
I wasnt able to watch much sc2 lately but does Polt usually put turrets on his expansions ? Never seen so much burrowed infestor harass on expansions as in this series from steph. Maybe he picked that up while analyzing him. It was so so crucial to his wins imo. But as I said I havent seen the assembly games for example.

Careful now, somebody might call you a balance whiner and send you to disneyland, it makes no sense for the game to be imperfect.

More like Stephano doesnt play mutas, and has not played burrowed infestors before, so Polt places no turrets.

what redox said, stephano gets mutas maybe 1 game out of 20 and the burrowed infestor play surprised polt
One thing I would like to see if they play again is for New Polt to throw in some Old Polt. A long time ago people would joke about how Polt would never be seen throwing down a third CC, but he pretty much played macro games every single time against Stephano. Throw in some cheese. Throw in the strong timing pushes that he used to be solely known for. It's great that his macro, which was pretty bad, has improved so much, but going for seven straight games of just, 'Hey, let's make the best finals ever and go late game' every time isn't going to be the best when going up against the strong late game Zerg army. The bunker play was cute, but wasn't any real sort of rush or attack and just to take some drones off mining/produce more zerglings.

Haha, thought that comment wasn't within the confines of whine. If I get sent to Disneyland after the heaps and heaps of unpunished woeful, woeful posts in this thread I may have an aneurysm!

Right now, no one in Code S has even a 80% chance to get to Ro8, it's that stacked. MVP, Nestea, Leenock all fell early, MMA got in by 1 game, etc. Polt is very good, but he is going to find Code S much harder than this tournament
