So the terran spends a bit more money, but in exchance for that he COMPLETELY ELIMINATED FORCEFIELDS imagine that, whats more important +1/+1 and stim, or completely removing forcefields? id say completely removing forcefields is much stronger so parting went for basically a 8gate off two bases what if jakji went for a 5rax of two bases with thors? 3 reactors on raxes, 2 techlabs on raxes, 1 techlab on factory. 300/200 a minute to make thors 720 minerals/minute to make rines from 3 reactor raxes 200/50 a minute to make marauders from 2 techlab raxes total cost, 1220 minerals / minute to produce off all those buildings plus 400 minerals/minute on required depots. 2 fully saturated mineral line + 2mules gives about 1900 minerals per minute income, meaning terran can reach the 1620 income he needs before he reaches saturation, enough time/money to buy 1turret in time for DT's or expand to counter a third That's some ridiculous theory crafting and I didn't even begin to talk about imbalance. The best counter (IMO) is just to get a fast third CC (15cc > 2rax > gas > techlab/rauder/combat shields > 3rd cc), basically putting you on even footing with the protoss. The difference between the two builds is that 3cc can't just fucking push at the 10min mark and kill someone =/ I just really dislike the warp in/forcefield mechanic. You can't really reactively go thor like that, and it'd be pretty bad against 8gateways. Medivacs/bio tech is the absolute strongest answer to gateway builds (to the extent that if you get 3 medivacs and a decent bio count you can just go kill them), Jjakji just needed to get repair on the bunkers and have his units in slightly better positioning (& nonstop medivacs). I don't think it was a build order loss, it's just a slightly different version of the 6gate (with a better follow-up). The fact that it exists is utterly retarded, though. Edit: And 1/1/stim is much more potent than having 2 awkward thors O_o | ||
