it makes the games seem a lot easier..EMPs/storms/AoE are all more effective and a seemingly even game sorta falls apart with one splash attack -.-

That early aggression play was practically a build order win (the map also played a part due to how open the natural is). How is that more impressive than a late game where macro/micro is much more important in determining who wins? TL bias tends to swing with the most prominent QQ of the time. It used to be zergs, but ever since the 1/1/1 and the infamous front page balance whine article Protoss have learned that they can indeed give the zergs a run for their money in the whining department.
