Here we go again. This weekend is about good games and good fun. Don't rain on that parade. Play nice guys. Here's the very standard and friendly:
- NO Balance Whine. - NO Player Bashing. - NO Caster Bashing. - NO BM whatsoever.
Breaking these rules (from pg 166 forward) will be met with severe punishment. |

MVP has allined a lot more in TvP and TvT on 1 base, yet everyone only remembers MC's allins. MC allin - damn cheeser! MVP allin - wow AWESOME timing attack! Sigh.. MVP is the one playing 20+ sets this tournament. How many did MC have to play? 4. What does that have to do with anything? MVP always 1-1-1s TvP and occasionally 1 bases vs Terran. Nobody gives him crap for that. what
mvp almost never 1-1-1s
those games weren't even really 1-1-1 allins, they were just marine-tank pushes
the third 1 involves a starport, you know

Being the best player in the world ought to count for something, and earn him some fans? If MKP or Huk would have been the best, they would have tons of fans. It is a bit weird, he is always well-spoken, doesn't cheat and don't cheese, he is pure talent, but still, as he said himself, he doesn't have many fans. I'm a MVP fan... I think it's the underdog phenomenon: Terran is perceived as OP (not saying they are or are not, please don't go there), thus the majority is rooting against Terran players, even against those playing near perfection such as MVP. Yeah, probably underdog phenomenom, but MVP reminds me about Iloveoov, and Iloveoov surely were popular, albeit not so much as his mentor Yo-Hwan. Maybe Iloveoov fans are MVP fans aswell, were you a fan? In BW the Terrans could conjure up fans even though Terran players had unbelievable win streaks.

is it me, or is Mr. Bitters casting completely fucking awesome?

MVP is a macro player, and he doesn't all-in. You are defined by your actions. MVP just did two Marine-Tank All-ins, one from 1 base, one from 2 bases. He also attempted to all-in his first game vs MC on Shattered Temple. He does all-in. True but you can't base his whole playstyle off of ONE series. MVP is a great macro player if you watch his TvTs and TvZs I imagine almost 100% of people complaining about MVP being a cheeser don't watch the GSL.
I never said he was a cheeser, or that he isn't a macro player. But the fact is, he does all-in, the quote I quoted originally said that he doesn't all-in.

Because he didn't have enough units. He was waiting for the Archons. Without the Archons, his army would have died.
His real mistake there was not anticipating an all-in close air spawns on Metalopolis, tbh.

had to wait for his stalkers. They were looking for reinforcements that weren't coming, so he had to engage late.

ITT: Lots of people who have seen MVP play in 1-2 matches total, and never in the GSL. Sad stuff.

There's a chance Nani and DRG will have to play eachother twice, and in that case the final series determines who gets code S.

Who is FXOLeenock? Has he ever come to MLG before?
Gonna be funny/sad if some random dude comes into the championship and takes the 50K over all the other plays who came to every MLG.

I can't understand how people don't recognise it >_<. Well I guess people saying he's the best terran in the world is now not recognizing his skill, especially considering how beastly korean terrans are... Yeah I don't get it. Pretty much everyone agrees that he's one of, if not the strongest terran in the world. How is that underrated? I won't cheer for him personally unless he has a huge slump and becomes the underdog!
I think MVP is right now considered the best SC2 player as of now. That can not be really debated. I do have to excuse MMA for not being properly allowed to heat up and turn to beast mode like he can be.. MMA at his best can not be beaten IMO.
only BW players could probably take down MMA.

Is the final going to be a horribly anticlimatic extended series with one guy 2-0 up? Who has the extended series advantage? It usually always is. Most of the time winners finals loser goes down to losers finals and wins, then meets the same person over again from a disadvantage. Superstandard.
To be fair MVP just won with an extended series disadvantage. MVP can (but might not) 4-0 anyone if he's playing his A game.

It is a bit weird, he is always well-spoken, doesn't cheat and don't cheese, he is pure talent, but still, as he said himself, he doesn't have many fans. He definitely has fans, judging by this thread alone, but there's maybe a bunch of reasons why he isn't the most popular with the fans. First of all, he is the best. He'll get huge respect for that, definitely, but people like underdogs. People also don't like to see the same person win everything. Secondly, he doesn't show emotion. I actually quite like that, because it's very professional and it means he can keep calm and not play on tilt. However, that lack of emotion doesn't translate well to fans. Fans like when you can see how much a win / loss means to a player. I think it's the same in any sport, really. I do think MVP has a huge amount of respect though. I'm a Protoss fanboy but I'll openly admit MVP is a fantastic player. You don't get that good by just being lucky. I'd like to add, that Flash (the greatest RTS gamer in history) also went through the same things as MVP. During his reign, when no one could beat him, people were actually joking he might destroy e-sports because of how boring the scene had become. It's the same thing with MVP.
Exactly.
Personally, I don't care about anything other than seeing deep complex games which can only be given by the best. Doesn't matter how "boring" they are. Subtlety is an art.

Do we get the consolation match replays?

Of course not, he's the richest person in the world and has a hatred for money due to its imbalanced spread across the global population.
