He only lost because he didn't scout the pylon. If the push was delayed enough for inori to make a new pylon stephano had enough production to defend

...TheStC's skill level is on par with IdrA's if not better. He's actually a really good player

TheStC showed that he's no where near Idra's level as a mechanical player. He went CC first on Shakuras Plateu and cut every corner possible to macro up and still got clowned by Idra's macro mechanics.

He showed that Idra is still weak to really strong semi-allin aggression builds, as Idra always has been. TheStC was the better strategist today, nowhere near the better (or even skill) player.

In starcraft 2, skill is mostly measured in mechanical ability and tactical split-second decisions. Strategy obviously matters, but they're two quite separate things.

Wonder how the timing would have worked with spines, seems like the push would have hit before they were finished building if stephano had started them right as the overlord scouted, but I'd have to recheck to be sure.

Totally agree, zergs should never block their ramps with queens. Why should they lose their queens, when they can lose all their drones instead?
i already posted this but it can't be stressed enough, idra's queens were all very close to dead. if he tried to block with queens then it would have bought him like 3 seconds at most, he tried to hide them in his main so they could regen up for the next fight but it didn't work

i think a spine on the high ground probably would have helped a lot in that battle but i don't know what else he could have done to fend that off after the major engagement


The choke is the only position he has against the hellions, if blocking it can't help him, then not blocking it would help him even less.

wrong strat for the map. You fast third when the 3rd can be connected by creep or is close enough to reinforce.


When your fast 3rd is that far away, 1/3 of your reinforcements are 10x further away than the proxy pylon is to your front. The reinforcements are just inefficient, and in a close dirty fight those precious seconds count for so much


Even worse is a far third makes you account for the difficulty of holding your bases against air. He even got lucky seeing every gateway (since they were not spread), but it wasn't enough
