Standard LR thread rules apply. No caster bashing, no insulting the interviewers, no player bashing, no balance whining. Bans will be doled out to violators so don't shit up this thread with immature garbage.

why do they pronounce puma PYUMA?

Cus that's the proper pronunciation

Same as jaguar is jag-yoo-arr

English caster, different accent, different pronunciation, our language ect. ect...

In the USA
For example: Puke
(p-yuke)
or
(pook)?
Pyuma makes sense to me :p

In my mind Puma rhymes with Uma, like Uma Therman. And this confirms it: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/puma#English Whoever posted it last time misread it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA_chart_for_English

To save you looking:

"u: ... through, you"

Thus: /pu:ma/ is "PYOO-mah".

Like I said, please drop it.

I don't get how people are so surprised about Whitera's QQing. He's done it before on several occasions in game. People just seems to want to forget because he's such a nice guy or something.

Better macro? lol

WhiteRa had his third up for a long time. Puma just got into a good position with a timing attack.

whitera was supply blocked at a crucial time and was building SIX pylons at once. wtf. and his positioning made zero sense. he was positioning himself as if he was the one with all ranged units and puma had a bunch of melee units.

Forget WhiteRa game, do you think Puma outplayed Hero? Honest opinion, even setting aside the fact that Hero is your teammate.

i think hero made a lot of mistakes, especially in game three. i think people aren't able to judge who played better. they look for high difficulty strategies and tactics, i guess. but the fact is, application of good basic strategy + making less mistakes than your opponent = win.

Thanks for your answer.

Sure, Hero made mistakes, everybody does. However, Puma made plenty of them as well, in that first game, do you agree? The point here is following, you cannot make nearly as many mistakes as a Protoss, it seems. Terran has such a comeback factor that he can play like garbage for segments of game or lose a lot of units, but then, he is still back as a threat with marines. Is this a fair assessment?

Doesn't sound like a fair assesment to me. Sounds like a balance whine.

also, that wasn't a timing attack. it was just a good time to attack

Can this end all the protoss kneejerk whine now please?

So when are you going to be OK to hear Protoss QQ? When no single Protoss player is left by 1/16 final?

Never in this thread. Have you even bothered to read the top?

I'm not trying to get in balance debates, I'm questioning why people are blaming balance for losses. This isn't the thread for it.

But that is also leading into balance discussions. LR threads would be infinitely better off if we just ignored those comments altogether and moved on.

Agreed. Sometimes It's hard to read something that makes zero sense and ignore it.
I see the want to in your eyes.

He's White-Ra. He could have slammed his headset into his keyboard shattering it all over the place then punched Puma in the face and everyone would still love him. Except maybe Puma.

Disagree. PuMa still wouldn't be able to resist his charm.

PuMa would've probably apologized for beating him in the process.

I don't think it was that he wanted to position himself like that, he just did not want to engage at that time and probably hoped to stall for a while.

no reason why he couldnt have had a sentry in position to make puma's maneuver impossible. it's just another drawback of grouping all the army in one hotkey.

Of course, I did not say that he did nothing to fuck it up, just that his mistake was not in consciously bad positioning for the fight as I think he wanted to stall for time and he botched that stalling.

And this means what? His knowledge is still huge.

He is just stating obvious things.

If a player loses, its easy to pick on his mistakes and what he could of ideally do. Thats why they lost.. they COULD of done something different.

yeah except when 12 fucking pages later people are still crying terran imbalance, it helps to have someone people can listen to come in and state realizations sane individuals should have come to but couldn't.

A game cannot be discussed without talking about its features. Is it a whine? Well, yes, but it's in the context of discussion of who outplayed who in a 3 game series

..I don't think it is. Hero outplayed Puma into the early mid game then made a huge enough blunder to let Puma take it back.

No race can lose their whole army while taking none of their opponents army out and then be fine.
