.. hate to say it, but the french are amazing at doing this type of thing when they host tournaments.
Be careful, i said the same thing but got banned.
Damn stop it
The fourth game against mana, stephano put an early baneling nest, the crowd just got mad, the shoutcasters did scream baneling nest! Yeah they said baneling nest in english Mana didn't hear a thing, and if he did, he wasn't able to understand it.
Except for the fact that ESWC has been around for a very long time and has always been considered by the community and the players as being the world cup of Esports.
Yes u re right, in esports since 1999 The WCG is considered the olympic games and ESWC the Worldcup.

although IM also one of the "mlg prizepool is ridiculous" ppl, you have to consider that this eswc is once a year event and regarded as a " world championship" so you shouldnt compare it to a single mlg circuit stop, considering that the grand finals will have a 50k for first prize pool. Or it's the same as saying:" lulz Blizzcon, Nasl and MLG Providence and GSL have 2 times the prizepool of the so called world championship ESWC"

I would not call him "the" world champion. He is just "a" world champion, besides Sjow (IesF), Ace (IEM WC) and MVP (GSL WC). If there is a "the world champion", it would have to be MVP, because the GSL is the one organisation, who has the biggest legitimacy (Don´t know, if this word exists in english in that way) to crown the world champion.
MVP is most likely the best player in the world yes but he didn't take the opportunity to partake in this ESWC and thus he gave up the change to become world champion of Starcraft 2. It's not like it would be the first time in the world someone is the WC of something despite not being the actual best player
MVP won the "GSL world campionship". How is he not the world champion? Just because some organisation declares their tournament to a "World championship", it isn´t one automaticly.

Not for Starcraft 2. If you ask some coummunity member, if he would see the ESWC or the GSL WC as the most legitimate contender for the world championship, I bet 80% or more would say GSL.
I think it's reasonable to question the security of tournaments, especially when they have such huge prize pools, I'm sure there are players out there, that want to take advantage of it.

The quality of posts in general is getting shittier by the day. Mods should just start permabanning left and right.
Nah. If we are uncertain about the results, it puts pressure on organisers to minimise the cheating effect, so keep em coming!
Do you honestly think if anyone could have heard a damn thing on the stage, the players who played on that stage would not have said something? As someone very accurately pointed out, the French Casters screamed Baneling Nest! in English at the top of their lungs, the crowd went nuts and MaNa still didn't have a clue and was completely unprepared for it. The Warp Prism drop on the Lair is another example that clearly shows there was no cheating going on.
These setups are extremely common, industrial noise-protection headsets combined with in-ears are about the most effective protection you can get. Booths do not add a lot to that. There is no magical material you can use to completely block sound with a booth. They help, but they are actually the least important component of that setup.

I just created a the world series of starcraft 2. I won it. Because I won it after Stephano, I am the current, reigning, and defending world champion of SC2. All comers were welcome to my tourney, but nobody showed up, so I'm the baddest man on the planet.
Are you still talking about SC2 or are you describing the NFL/MLB here.

To be honest, I feel like there are already too many "major" tournaments. I'm not against a natural selection process. NASL already shot themselves in the foot with their terrible organization ; if MLG keeps up with the low prize pool and awful format, I will be very happy to have IPL as the sole North-American event worth following (plus Blizzcon once a year).
