Socke and even Mana (a lot of people, including myself, consider him in very good shape, got 3-0`ed). Most of the people want to watch the best players and don't care if that are koreans. But I myself, lose interest pretty fast when the foreigners get dominated that hard. I don't even mind missing the finals. The double elimination system i find is also a lot more appealing.
Lack of good Zerg? Nerchio and Stephano are best in EU (also Ret)? Idra chickened out... its not IEM fault
Well Nerchio and Stephano are definately very promising players, but haven't yet proofed to be consequently good players at lans. And I didn't even mentioned dKilleR his 1-6 performance. Players like Dimaga, Morrow or Ret definitily would have given IEM a bit more flair. Too bad Idra didn't show up.
you mean like huk? i guess you can find some better toss to replace him also then...

This is stupid. They had technical problems with LoL so SC2 was delayed. That's no reason to talk shit about other games.

I share your pain, I woke up hungover as hell, turned on the stream and saw LoL at first and it oddly enough added to my urge to puke.

Cheers!

yeah... but they have to share it with like 4 guys! ;-)
That's still 200k a piece. More than any SC2 tournament has offered for first, and the game is still pre-release! I'm not convinced on the game yet though... it just has the dota name to attract sponsors.
Valve put all that money. It's just a marketing thing just to hype the game

I played LoL for a year and have no fucking clue what is going on in that dota2 game. It is just confusing. I tried HoN but ran into the same problem. WAY too many particle effects from skills.

Sry if this is OT but since we are waiting im trying to understand this weird game... :O
Tbh, you have to play it in order to understand it. Not the best spectator-friendly game but it looks fun to play

maybe i don't know 'cause i'm not an expert on dota at all (i've never even played) but it seems understandable to me. I don't instantly recognize every spell but it all makes sense and i feel the excitement. i can tell who's winning and whatnot.

no idea what is happening, but the fact that the winner gets a million is worth watching. hey, i'd quit esports after getting the miliion and pull all my money into stocks.

I think the viewers are used to those situations where one streamer says complete nonsense and the other reluctantly agrees or says nothing or completely changes the subject. This always annoys me.
I feel like I would enjoy this if I really understood all the parts of the game (the strats, the skills, the micro needed etc etc). The casters are god damn frantic any way
