it's hope... but that wasn't well executed by any means

This will either be the greatest(best?) decision ever or the worst.

Guys, I said it once but did you notice asd had full orbital energy? That's why he had half the marines he should have had.

Yeah, every time I've seen a Protoss hold this off it was because the Terran messed it up somehow. (Thorzain mishandling his army when FFed, then not sieging tanks. Here losing banshees for nothing. MMA donating tanks.)

I'm not a regular watcher of GSTL, but can someone explain to me why the teams send not their best players in critical situations (I noticed this first in QXC's all-kill)? Is GSTL not that important for the teams?

Other way around. MC did this awhile back against I think bomber ( Im pretty sure it was metal). Almost held that game with the phoenixes. This is a pretty durable build if you have the mechanics to pull it off.
Anyone think it was a pretty good affirmation of the 1/1/1? Lose 3 banshees and a siege tank. Still almost walk over the army. Pretty robust build.
Edit: Energy for scan for dts??

I don't get it. Yesterday we commented that he wasn't aggressive because he went Banshee before raven. You only do that if you plan to harass. Because his raven was late he didn't have energy for a PDD. Thorzain also only sieged 1 of 3 tanks.
Today we commented that he donated key units of the push and once again engaged without sieged tanks (this time because the he moved before it finished). I hope that explains what each days comments mean. They aren't random bitching, there is some logic.

Now he only needs to send banshees with marines under them! Genius!!

God...Shut the fuck up about the 1-1-1 build, it's so easy to stop. I haven't lost to it for 3 months on the NA server, and I'm high masters, bronze level players still lose to 6 pools so I don't know why so many people are complaining about the 1-1-1

MMA and ThorZain both forgot siege, and now asd gave away 3 banshees for free. Just because they're fantastic players doesn't mean they're infallible, and the build still has a 90% winrate.
Thorzain completely did the build wrong, lol
He didn't use his banshees at all, so it was totally pointless
He got raven after 2 banshees and didn't have enough energy to use PDD in the battle and lost his banshees to stalkers instantly
It was a mess

Yeah, he did get those Banshees for free, but even during the actual engagement the Phoenixes would still be there destroying the Banshees. Tough to defend against? No doubt, but no harder than any other popular all-in of any race.
I think during the engagement, the lifts on the tanks were key. If he didn't kill those banshees, the phoenix would choose between killing banshees or lifting tanks since you obviously can't do both, so he might not have held it. It's a good start to trying to beat it though.

TheBest needs to 3 kill? I hope he pulls it off!

Killing a key unit turns the tides of an all-in/rush? Gasp! I am in shock! I don't feel like you're addressing my main point here. Letting those units die was asd's fault.
You know, it's pretty common that when one of your unit dies, you made a mistake. It was just a brilliant idea by Puzzle to go Phoenix to kill the Banshees. From now on Terrans can't use their Banshees to harass before the 1/1/1 allin because there's a chance their Banshees will get sniped.
|
The only 2 donations from asd were the banshees, which were mostly donations as he probably wasn't expecting phoenixes, although I thought he scouted the stargate, but maybe not. Picking off the tanks for free was just good play from Puzzle, nothing more. He moved well out onto the map for some quick snipes, unlike most protoss who just sit in their base and wait for it to arrive.

Yep, yesterday thorzain didn't send out banshees to harrass, not well executed (obviously the lack of siege etc etc). Today, sends out banshees to harrass gets caught offguard and its badly executed because he shouldve kept his banshees in his base?
