Things he could have done:

- scouted the proxy pylon
- sniped the obs
- scanned the base to see that he hadn't expoed and had robo & twlight

Fact is in SC2 that these type of all in builds are ridiculously strong. Terran has the same with tank/marine/banshee/raven all ins etc. It's just the way the game is made.

You can't blame competitive players for taking advantage of that.

Just go marauder heavy instead of marine heavy. I know it can be a slight coinflip because if P goes voidrays Terran most likely loses but going marauders is just a lot safer vs P.

It's almost always 2gate robo expo or 3gate expo, while a lot of Terrans go 1 rax expo then complain if they get allin'ed. You really think FF is that good? If you 2 rax vs 1gate expo it's almost autowin on most maps in tournament play.

2 rax expo is definitely safe, but you will be behind if the P expos early instead. 2rax can't pressure on such a big map, so T is tempted to go 1rax CC builds.

but then P allins don't care about map distance because of warpin... maybe large is inherently broken slightly in P favor

i guess the point is that T pressure OR allin is completely ruled out on a large map like this, making T early game super predictable, while nothing changes for P

Lol.... just lol. Please watch GSTL before you make such comments. GSTL matches are seldom cheesy or lucky. In fact most of them go for pretty long, particularly when we reach the final stages. And you know what's the most ironic comment about your statement? The fact that Tassadar won using all-in builds 3 times in a row.

Having said that, SlayerS are definitely in a slump right now.

and wolf said you can't support 4gates on one base. i really didn't give a shit about the details what i cared about is whether or not thats true. i've had plenty of pvps that go into "mid game" where we are still both on 4gates 1base and yes i constantly produce from my 4gates thats why I know he isn't right.

with chronoboosts there is VERY slight downtime on the 4gates. i even just did a test to make sure(dont know why i bothered ive been in the situation many times). the downtime is so slight that even top pro gamers wouldn't keep up with it. and 3gates doesn't even come close to being able to spend your money.


So there is down time even with 30 probes which is obviously not what Wolf was talking about and I'm assuming you weren't even making probes, which is generally what's understood by being able to support everything - constant production from all buildings. Even on your technical level with maximum mining (which no one was talking about), you can't support it fully with perfect play.

It's not a big deal.

You must be painfully unaware of where the BW progaming scene lies. It's in team leagues. How do you define the strength of a team if it isn't working together to beat another team?

it was all about tassadar getting that probe in and scouting the no gas expo as opposed to a marauder expo... and getting supply blocked like 3 times

although I'm guessing he had another build planned for a marauder expo

P often drops their expo later than T and the midgame turns out fine. The slight difference between who gets their expo up faster is usually negligible because there is only a slight window that you can take advantage of anyways which most people won't cause they'd rather saturate their new expo than commit to an attack so early.

i agree 2 rax vs 1gate expo, P is going to lose that nex.

but on the big maps, you don't get that mileage out of 2rax, so it's only good defensively. now it certainly would have been strong defensively that game too, since both the marine and marauder count will be high enough for VR or blink.

maybe that's the safe build, and then if P expands before you, just try to draw the game out to 3-4 base to even out the advantage.

True. To Tassadar's credit even though he seems to play an aggressive/allin style it was still a smart decision in the last game based on what he saw. People argue that allin/cheese is essentially coinflipping for a win but if you have continued success in the GSL you're probably doing something right (I know this last sentence is trollbait).
