THE HORROR!
The problem here is that GSL and MLG have a shred of credibility...

It's good to see a lot of notable players participating in this. Although, in the participant list, it shows everyone's character codes...if it's possible you guys should remove them to avoid spam and stuff.

They have more credibility than random hater on the internet.

You guys need to pick a different site to host your bracket. Dreamhack used BinaryBeast and the bracket crashed countless times.

As much as I love NASL i don't think it will get as much traffic as the DH brackets. It should be fine.

ehm, being an OPEN tournament should mean ANYONE can apply. So lame that they are doing this when many are not available. 1pm seems to be a excellent time for everyone except North Americans.

Catering to the North American crowd with no hope of qualifying over the majority of progamers doesn't make much sense O_o

Making it a terrible time for pro Koreans and Euro players to suffice non pro NA players makes no sense.

It seems some TSL players has signed up (aLive, Clide, Revival, JYP, PuMa and Heart more specifically).
Go Clide!!

Which happens to have/accept people from what, 5 different continents?
Looks like you got a great turn out of talent for the Open Xeris! 'Grats, I hope that's what you were looking for more than having a lot of people sign up - should be quite the battle for the final spot in California Can't wait to see who gets through.

I'm pretty happy with the turnout... pretty much every player that people said 'OMG WHERE IS THIS GUY IN THE NASL, WHY DIDNT YOU INVITE HIM"
etc, plus a lot of Koreans =D

just curious. I was running the numbers. Oh..first off.. good work on the event. Looks promising for sure. My question is.. had this event filled up with 1024 participants at 10.00 each.. that would bring in over 10K in entry fee $$.. and a payout of just over 1k in travel expenses to the winners. That's less then a 10% payout. Is that right.. or did I miss something? I can't imagine that to be correct, but I am sure I missed something in the initial post.
Also.. I did not read all 23 pages.. about half though, but will there be coverage of this event. Streaming?
Thanks

Come on...
editted: And I understand pro players that weren't invited will be playing in this open, but you don't have to worry about IdrA, SeleCT, Kiwi, Naniwa, any Koreans...
You don't have to understand the crazy format of NASL (pretty sure incontrol said on stream that it was weird), to understand that you don't qualify for the Playoffs of a League after not having played in the league.
That's like if the Patriots didn't play all season, but beat a bunch of College teams to qualify for the post-season. Explain it. Don't just pretend you know something everyone else doesnt. Because in the actual league you have a 1/5 chance to make it to the Grand Final... here you have a 1/1,024 chance to make it.
actually.. you have a 1/188 chance and if you add in the fact that more then 9/10 of the players in the open bracket are non-pro. A pro who did not participate in the 'League' ,,, but shows up for the Open bracket actually has about the same odds... but only has to play around 8 matches in a week and pay 10 bucks to get there.

Which is to pay for? Last time i checked it costs next to nothing to hold an online tournament. Single elimination to add to it too, Sc2 ins't well balanced or designed enough for single elimination to produce the best players. instead it produces the luckiest of the best players.
Entering 64 person SC2 Duel Event = $0.00 Playing at least 4 matches of amazingly fun SC2 against good opponents = $0.00 Making the Finals = A little bit of time.. but still $0.00 Winning the whole damn thing! = +++ $250.00
Now that's a payout!
Sorry.. was bored off my ass.. started reading this thread and it got the juices flowing!

No IM or Slayer in the open tournament sigh, NASL needs to communicate with the koreans better.. I highly doubt Immvp would refuse to play for a chance to get 50k.

Nice to see most of TSL signed up. I see: Alive Clide JYP Revival Puma Heart
So just missing Fruitdealer, Killer, and Trickster who probably have prior commitments I'd imagine?
Xeris do you know if theres a chance we'll see anymore Korean players joining before the cutoff? Has anyone else contacted you back?
